Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Happy Tuesday, GN!

A thread without kitties might as well be dead.

This one ought to have 18 lives, then.

More FBI shenanigans:

http://www.oregonlive.com/oregon-standoff/2018/02/fbi_told_oregon_state_police_n.html#incart_river_home

Prosecutors say witness testimony, audio and video evidence, plus bullet trajectory analysis yielded one conclusion: FBI agent W. Joseph Astarita lied about firing two shots at the truck of refuge occupation spokesman Robert “LaVoy” Finicum in 2016 after he swerved into a snowbank.

The information is detailed in a 32-page government response to Astarita’s motion to dismiss the federal indictment against him. He’s pleaded not guilty to three counts of making false statements and two counts of obstruction of justice. Astarita’s lawyer claimed the indictment was based on “junk science.”

The government response also reveals that Oregon State Police SWAT troopers at the scene, ordinarily required to wear body cameras, didn’t that day at the request of the FBI. The FBI did obtain video from FBI surveillance planes flying above the scene.

More at the link. Stuff like this makes me think that I’m insufficiently cynical. 👿

“Fidelity. Bravery. Integrity.” Buwahahahaha…now pull the other one, G-Men.

And yet with all of these details about FBI lies and covering up, not to mention the BLM whistleblower in this case, no one in the MSM has mentioned the Bundy case as another example where the FBI had their own agenda rather than the rule of law. I think it’s because of the supposedly racist statements that Cliven Bundy made--no one wants to be seen as taking his side in anything.

Mac: I think you’ll enjoy the Waco series. The next episode on Wednesday shows the initial ATF raid.

Although the producers are compressing some of the timeline and made what I would say is a big factual area in the Ruby Ridge part, the overall storyline is consistent with what I’ve read over the years and the govt does not come out looking well.

Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!

I recognize that look on those cat’s faces.

Sven -- thanks for the feedback on the Waco series. I’ve been avoiding it because I feared it would be a typical MSM hit-job. Good to know that it isn’t. I own a VHS copy of Waco: Rules of Engagement and would not recommend it to anyone with blood pressure issues.

Hai, Sven and Paddy!

The FBI is rather fond of “junk science”:

But, hey…”only a few bad apples”. Just like every other lying-ass, corrupt law enforcement agency in the country. (Which is to say all of them.)
