Teh Squeaky Wheel
Looks like we’ll likely get some heavy rain from Irma; glad we’re on a sloped lot.
The kids just relocated from Seattle to Orlando last week; timing! 🙁
Ugh. That is some bad timing, Fatwa. Here’s hoping all stay safe. We have a friend that has decided to ride Irma out in Titusville.
And happy Friday, GN!
Hope your friend in Titusville stays safe, too.
Maaaaaan…the whinging about Betsy DeVos wanting to ensure there’s due process regarding sexual assaults on college campuses is -- *ahem* -- stunningly disheartening.
It’s sadly amusing that decades of the “liberals” blaming caucasian males for so many of society’s ills has magically transformed me into…an angry old white man! Good job, dumbasses.
Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
Fatwa and Sven -- I hope your family and friends stay safe. Teh Younger’s college campus has already been evacuated (it’s in the lowest-lying storm surge area) and he’s been checking on friends in the area -- all have evacuated.
Glad Teh Younger’s friends have evacuated; hope they’ll all be safe.
I see that the DOJ will not be bringing charges against Lois Lerner. Per Tom Fitton at Judicial Watch:
I have zero confidence that the Justice Department did an adequate review of the IRS scandal. In fact, we’re still fighting the Justice Department and the IRS for records about this very scandal. Today’s decision comes as no surprise considering that the FBI collaborated with the IRS and is unlikely to investigate or prosecute itself. President Trump should order a complete review of the whole issue. Meanwhile, we await accountability for IRS Commissioner Koskinen, who still serves and should be drummed out of office.
At what point do we use the 2A for its clearly intended purpose? (We went to war with the British Empire for way less.)
Pretty sad when we have to pin our hopes on Trump doing something about this.
Looks like your part of Georgia, Fatwa, is in for some wild weather as well -- be safe.
I have a bad feeling about our friend in Titusville and her son, but there’s no arguing with them. Her preparations: “a generator, cat food, storm shutters, and booze.” I guess it could be worse.
Latest reports tell us to expect 3–6″ of rain; that means possibility of some minor flooding but nothing worrisome re CasaK.
I’m more concerned about the sustained winds by the time it gets here; but again, nothing really scary in the most recent forecasts. (If Irma loses energy faster than expected, I won’t complain.)
And if Irma picks up sharks, well, we’ve got a chainsaw.
