Grandma will stop at nothing………..

Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Happy Snail Cozy Sunday, GN!

Hi, dv8!

Grandma will stop at nothing………..

Heh.

Grannies are ruthless. (Some are downright evil.)

dv8 --

When we moved to Cleveland just short of my 7th birfday, many -- perhaps most -- of my new 2nd grade classmates were seriously into baseball and/or football (Cleveland being a big sports and beer town).

I tried in vain to develop an interest in those sports to better “fit in”, but I had zero interest…something which never changed. So I just gave up, which seemed preferable to being a poseur.

Sven --

Hope your back is better (or at least continuing to be manageable). Mine feels like it’s ready to go out this morning; I’ll probably pop a “preventive” 5mg diazepam, as I don’t really need to use my brain much today. 😉

So re sports. I’m not very captivated by them. However, sometimes when I chance to watch a football game that happens to be on. I do feel it to be captivating in some way, like some kind of male gene is kicking in. So…I’ve been thinking for a while that having that right sports buddy, maybe the right beer and pretzel combo also, could or would bridge the gap for me.

I’m a little odd though and find it hard to make new friends. Even though i have a church full of them.

See how I’m not there today though, because my schedule is upside-down again because of the Job I currently have.

Church people watch football too -- hit one of them up. But you want to watch a good game. Right now, probably the most exciting NFL team is the Baltimore Ravens due to their young quarterback, Lamar Jackson. Or wait until the playoffs -- I’m hopeful for a Ravens-Patriots matchup for the AFC Championship.

Here’s hoping you can give both your brain and your back a rest today, Fatwa.

A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning dv8, and Fatwa!

My church Christmas concert is tonight -- hopefully everyone can get into the mood and feel of the music and break free of the mechanics, as well as keep on pitch. Mrs. Paddy sings with her church choir when they have a concert (she can’t sing with them on Sunday mornings) and they’re having their concert today, as well. Busy day!

Our annual Christmas cookie baking started yesterday and we have four types baked, with another type to be baked on Monday. Then the cut-out cookies need to be decorated, the cookies packaged up, and delivered to neighbors.

You’re a good gerbil, Paddy.

Oh noes…how could there have been a shooting in a gun-free mall??

As you can see from their “Code of Conduct”, guns aren’t permitted:

Given the low level of reading comprehension noways, perhaps if their notice was in the form of a video, that would stop such events.

Three witnesses told The Associated Press they saw a man bleeding on the floor of the mall’s food court after shots were heard. None of the witnesses would identify themselves.
