Happy Guess The Day Of The Week, GN!

What could possibly go wrong?

Them Motel 6 rooms are gonna need some “remodeling” when the homeless folks move out; bet the CA taxpayers will be footing those bills, too.

Suspect that whoever came up with the name “Operation Roomkey” thinks they’re clever.

They’re not.

*Rolls eyes*

Got a two sentence non-apology-apology email from Counselor Shyster, Esq late yesterday afternoon. His excuse:

… there was a mix up with the information we were provided with regarding the account at issue.

Because I’m an asshole -- and that’s an unacceptable excuse for his performing shitty legal work -- he’ll be getting a GFY response. (It’s been a while since I’ve had the opportunity to use the term “bumblefuck” in a piece of business correspondence….) 😉

BBL.

Happy [checks calendar] April, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!

Fatwa -- enjoy your letter-writing! I hope it proves cathartic!

Hi, Sven and Paddy!

Just as I was about to email my latest missive to to Counselor Shyster, something occurred to me.

I called Jim to see if he’d gotten the FedEx package from “Dewey, Cheatham & Howe”. He told me it had arrived yesterday but he hadn’t opened it as we’d already gotten the non-apology from Shyster-boy.

I asked Jim to open it and tell me what was in there. Among other documents, there was Jim’s credit app containing his name, address, signature and SSN.

It is a very near certainty this document was also sent to the deadbeat roofing company with the similar name.

Uh oh. 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿 👿

Fuck us? Au contraire…quintuple-fuck Mr Shyster and his client.

Jim’s attorney will be sending both parties a letter which will irritate them far more than mine to Herr Scheißter would have.

If there were any bourbon in the house, I’d have a shot. 🙂

JimCo has an account with them. (They’re a nationwide conglomerate of local and regional roofing suppliers).

The other company’s name is very similar to Jim’s; using made-up names, it’s like Jim is “Majestic Roofing Co.” and the deadbeats are “Majestic Roofing, Inc.”

Both entities have accounts with different divisions of the conglomerate. Different CA license #s and different listed owners. While the mix-up probably occurred at conglomerate HQ, Mr. Shyster apparently did zero due diligence. (As a three minute internet search would have shown they’re two unrelated entities.)

Further, it is Mr. Shyster’s firm which breached Jim’s privacy by using several methods -- including the U.S. Mail -- to send Jim’s info to the other company (thinking they were related to us…because he’s an a lazy, arrogant shitbag of a lawyer).

Shyster was probably sent Jim’s info by conglomerate HQ, so they are also on the hook for their negligence.

We are currently investigating our legal options but “job 1” is Jim’s attorney sending the “better buy a shit-proof umbrella” letter to both parties. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Criminy, Mac…bet that was infuriating, too.

I do hope your lawyer steps on them hard. Very hard. More than once.

Me, too. Haven’t seen Jim’s attorney’s letter yet; am very curious to see what’s in it. 👿

Jim’s ex-wife (with whom he’s on very good terms) is a pension / benefits attorney with a good knowledge of privacy laws. Plus, she knows a carp-tonne of lawyers.

I’m sure we’ll get some help from her, as well; she really, really hates when other attorneys make her profession look bad.

Random thought:

2020 may be the year we pass the Claire Wolfe threshold.

A friend of mine is an NLP practitioner.

I mentioned to him that I have trouble sightreading music because I have a tendency to look back and think about what I’ve already played.

While visiting me one day, he suggested he could do some “timeline therapy” on me and help me change that.

The problem is… me evidently not being neuro-typical, but I’ll get to that.

So we did this timeline therapy and then…

While it was true that I could sightread much better. it also kept me from doing my usual “looking back” that I evidently did in all aspects of my life. It might be a thing that made my analysis of things unique. I’m not sure. Only looking forward had some unforeseen consequences.

I have noticed over the years that what is different about a person is not what he IS as much as what he DOES. Therein lies the beginning of another story I’ll tell you all at another time.

Anyway, I woke up the next day in abject terror, because all I could see was the end of the solar system with the nova of the sun. I realize that sounds very silly, because I’m not going to be around that long. Even if they invented the magic anti-aging drug tomorrow, I’d be killed in an accident or something long before that time. Plus I do believe we’d have interstellar travel long before that happened.

Now, I will say, talking about it over days and weeks and months have softened that effect. I feel like I’m pretty much back to normal. I think I look back during most activities. and look forward when it is appropriate--like in sightreading.

Still, it was a scary time in my life.

I’d find that pretty pretty bloody scary, too. Awfully glad you’ve been mostly able to get past that.

Plus I do believe we’d have interstellar travel long before that happened.

I sure hope someone figures out seriously FTL travel!

So I made a video of that story while I was on stream today. Took me forever to make this 2+ minute video:

I’m a lamer and I suck. But this is the first “produced” video I’ve ever done. I had to use openshot editor. I noticed they had a new version only too late to use it, but I did make some improvements before uploading this to youtube. I put this on bitchute, but this one is a bit more polished.

I wish I could get adobe premier, it is so much more easy to use. I don’t do enough video editing to justify it yet.

Sorry that your eye is still troubling you. As dv8 said, you are in our prayers.
And as Mac said, our best to you and the ever-tolerant Mrs. Sven.
