Yesterday’s “commute” went smoothly and I am overjoyed to be home with LambiePieK and see the major improvements to CasaK that she and SiL did while I was away. Still stuff to be done to complete this phase, but “WOW!”. 😉
Got my first decent night’s sleep since before I left for L.A. (not kidding) and look forward to another one tonight. (A new memory foam mattress installed in my absence may have also contributed to that.)
Just finished unpacking and I think I’m done with chores for the day; still really exhausted, but my neck and shoulders are less achy then at any time in the past 5+ weeks; yay!
L.A. job was the most stressful JimCo project evar for a large variety of reasons, but it might be completed by the end of the coming week. Considering the multiple clusterfarks (none of which were JimCo’s fault), we’re still looking good on the PR front and the completed roofs really enhance the look of the property, which has made the homeowners and Board very happy.
The multiple “issues” really tested our corporate mettle and I’m pleased with how they got handled and that our responses were acknowledged and appreciated.
One exquisitely annoying homeowner is exceedingly lucky I didn’t throat-punch him at any point during my time on the property. Our truly amazing foreman -- who is a much kinder and level-temperamented individual than I -- said last week, “Myron is a piece of shit.” (Which is only one or two rungs off from any deity alleged to be loving, forgiving and kindly making the exact same comment.)
Myron is not well-liked by his neighbors as he’s an annoying old, meddling, passive-aggressive, prevaricating busybody who pretends to be a nice person.
If JimCo is asked to bid on the remaining buildings next year (and I believe that will be the case), I’ll be sorely tempted to make a certified death certificate for ol’ Myron one of the contract terms. 👿
Not kidding that this was far and away the toughest, most stressful JimCo project ever. I won’t stop stressing until it’s done; neither will Jim or our foreman.
