Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Sunday greetin’s, GN!

He’s scheduled from 0430 to 2300,

Holy carp that’s a long day!

…then he reports back at 0830 tomorrow

Criminy…that’s a hell of a schedule to end his job with.

Were the idjits who ran that organization into the ground well-compensated for their incompetence? (That seems to be the case all too frequently.)

Paddy: here’s hoping that after a short time, your boy is once again able to do what he loves.

Portland got even more out of hand last night with one pro-police/Patriot Prayer guy getting murdered. I doubt the media will give it any amount of coverage as it goes against their preferred America Sucks narrative.

Unbeknownst to me is that Sacramento has had riots for 3 nights in a row now with the police asking for National Guard assistance and the Mayor saying handle it on your own.

Hey, Sven!

I hadn’t known anything about Sac’to rioting until I saw your comment. Read a couple of SacBee articles about it.

Why do these “protests” always include breaking shit, looting and arson?

One of the things I vividly recall about the demonstrations my family was involved with in the ’60s was that protesters were expected to remain peaceful and dignified…PERIOD. They were generally well-dressed, too. (Same with the protests and sit-ins in the region where I now reside….which made the fire hoses, clubbings and dogs sicced on peaceful citizens such ‘bad optics”.)

Mayor Steinberg is an asshole. But then so’s Goobernor Nussolini…

Happy Sunday, GN!

You know, I barely even read the news and I’ve already scanned enough today, just to go “Bah!”
And be grateful I live in a small town. I just wish it was on the Pacific.

Fatwa, I really hope you and JimCo have to expend less effort going forward to get paid.

Paddy, I can’t even begin to imagine what those training modules have become. When I started in corporate, it was a video about not tripping over things or running into open filing cabinets.

Sven: Happiest Place to Work©, right?

I’m still processing last week and its components.
When I said “run through” of the programs he uses, I should have described, “Click here, this is over here {click} and then there’s this… {click} …Alexa play AC/DC.” And out the door.

Chaos, frenzy, disorder and then quiet. For a time. Then it starts all over again. I suspect the upcoming week be be different … especially as people plan their getaways.

It’d *almost* be like working for the Dread Pirate Roberts, in that he tosses over his shoulder, “If you pass your 65-day probation…” just about everyday.
EXCEPT
The man is absolutely grounded in goodwill. I’ve never witnessed someone so consistent. Between him and his son (also a mechanic) who is so without artifice, I have things to learn from these two.

I’m also going to slow it down. The temps might be coming down a leetle (pfft!), and I’m being mindful of my hydration -- but it’s too farkin’ hot for full-speed.
I also think I’ll park my car in the shade the last hour or so so it can drop a couple hundred degrees before I get in it. o_0

That’s all I got except I am SO grateful for each and every one of you.

Bestest place to work is wherever you are working right now, X. In my case, it’s a paycheck for which I am enormously thankful -- I pray that where you are now will become even better for you in the future -- sounds like a good crew around you. It’s probably been a long time since you were the new kid, so just take it easy -- it will all come together.

A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, Sven, and TeX!

Holy carp that’s a long day!

Which is why most of the employees who could fill that spot, don’t.

Criminy…that’s a hell of a schedule to end his job with.

He probably wouldn’t have been scheduled for this morning, except he’s the last deckhand left. Everyone else has already quit. This won’t be his last day, just his last on the boat. From here on out it’s teaching to small groups, both on- and off-line. He has an application in for a lab assistant at his college and we’re all hoping that goes through. I think once back in Florida he’ll stand a better chance of getting a full-time job in his field.

TeX -- sounds like an interesting place to work. I’m sure you’ll get it all figured out.

it’s too farkin’ hot for full-speed.

You can’t go full-speed in that kind of heat. Mad dogs and Englishmen…
