Teh Squeaky Wheel
Why yes…I am tired of being a bird; tell me more.
Happy Halloween Eve Friday, GN!
Y’all know I’m not a yuge supporter of Trump, but I am positively gleeful -- and even moderately enthusiastic -- about voting for him on Tuesday.
Because “Fuck you, that’s why!” 👿
Further, I plan to do something which is anathema to me: voting a nearly straight R ticket. (While I throw-up a little bit in my mouth. And fume about how degraded our political system has become with the shitty duopoly we currently have.)
If only we had some sort of founding document which clearly and explicitly limited the gummint’s power…
“If only we had some sort of founding document which clearly and explicitly limited the gummint’s power…”
But old white men!! And isn’t Sandra Fluke’s free birth control more important?? You might just use your freedom to buy a new VCR anyway.
Wow. Sandra Fluke -- I’d forgotten about her.
Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Mac!
Weird day, yesterday. I was sitting in my “office” for an all-day, all-hands meeting (with all of 13 minutes for lunch and no other breaks), while Teh Older was sitting in the kitchen for a half-day online first aid and CPR training, followed by going into the office to demonstrate the techniques he’d learned. Meanwhile, some of the people in my meeting were joining from Oklahoma, where they’ve had ice storms and some people have been without power for 5 days.
Fatwa -- I agree with your position on voting.
The last Friday before Armageddon. Good morning Fatwa, Mac, and Paddy!
In 2016, I voted for Cruz in the Republican primary, but by the time the primaries hit California, Trump had already won. In the general election, I unenthusiastically voted for Trump because Clinton. This year, he gets my vote and not because of his opponent.
Next week will be cray, but then the hard work begins.
Good morning, Sven!
For the last several presidential elections I’ve voted for the Libertarian candidate. Not so much because I felt they were the best candidate, but because my vote wasn’t going to change the outcome in California, and I’d like to see other parties in the presidential debates. This year I’ll be voting for Pres. Trump, hoping that the race becomes more competitive.
I sQuEAk for Trump!
Don’t hate me because I won’t vote for the potted plant in the basement…
I must admit, though, that I do feel very sorry for Biden. No one could have worked with oldsters, as I have doing music therapy, and not be touched by what appears to be elder abuse -- whether it is or not. The man is such a loathsome political creature that I’m sure he would agree to being used in such a way at the end of his useful years, but it’s hard to watch. I want to see his cold, hard wife rescue him from the cameras and the questions; not facilitate putting him in these stressful situations. I hate watching her act as the facilitator to use the old man when he really should be kept away from stress and given a warm blanket and a pudding cup. Such a sad farce. Ugly.
Hi, Gerbils! Nice to see you!
Here’s a place I think some of you might enjoy. Sarah Hoyt is a SF writer. Born in Portugal, she became initially enamored of the idea of living in the USA under our amazing constitution through reading RA Heinlein as a girl. Her blog posts are often very thought provoking and the comment sections are interesting.
Sad indeed, but no sympathy on my end. He’s being used and I think at some level he knows it.
You know what? I believe he will!
Trueninnernashionovadepressure? I believe only Biden could accomplish this grand mobilization….
Very interesting read, thank you. I will be looking at more by her.
[whisper] I did not know Fatwa was a bird![/whisper]
Two words, mullet feathers.
Hello Miss Harper! Good to see you on teh wheel!
Harper went with me on the Big Route today. Then she helped me change some light tubes in the warehouse. Then I fell deep asleep as soon as I hit the pillow and woke up promptly at about 1:30 pm.
I had a couple of nice phone calls with friends. Ate some of my Oma’s Potato Soup. Now I’m writing to you guys.
I do wish we lived close by all y’all.
