Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Danged cats!

Happy Monday, GN!

Paddy --

SackO’SugarK’s doing okay; thanks for asking. A couple of weeks ago she was down with something (seems unlikely to have been COVID-related) but she’s doing a lot better.

dv8 --

You’re most welcome re bacon!!1! (Found the directions online and was very pleased with the results.)

============================

Hope JimCo learns later this week the final disposition of the carp regarding our bonding company; “the process is the punishment”.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Curious as to how HH-A HOA will respond to our Demand for Arbitration; one can only hope they’re presently scurrying about like headless chickens. 👿

Happy Trippin’ Monday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa!

Fatwa -- I seriously LOL’d at the pic you added to your post.

I hope things go well with the JimCo bonding agent.

There was a significant oil spill from one of the offshore wells near Huntington Beach. So of course the local paper has an editorial calling for the capping of all old wells. Given that California hasn’t allowed new offshore drilling in decades, that means all wells, but they don’t want to say that part out loud.

Since the left is now openly advocating for destroying pipelines, I’m curious as to the cause of this one.

Good morning, Fatwa, and Paddy -- glad that Miss Brenda is feeling better.

Drive-by:

Hi, Paddy and Sven!

When I heard about the Huntington Beach oil spill, the first thing I thought was “ecoterrorism”. (As I’m old enough to remember folks “spiking” trees, or living in them to prevent them from being cut down. Somewhere, I have a pre-DHD rant about the latter happening near Santa Cruz which -- IIRC -- involved a protester plummeting from one of the trees they’d named.)

Thanks for the link, Sven; glad you like teh Miculek meme, Mr. O’.

Destroying property in the name of saving the environment is nothing new and has been employed by the likes of Earth First!, the Earth Liberation Front, and others for at least the last 50 years. Ed Abbey argued that terrorism was violence against people whereas the destruction of property was “merely” sabotage. That perspective has been adopted more recently by the likes of BLM and antifa and applied to entities beyond the environment.

In the olden days, you had to actually touch the equipment you wanted to destroy. In our modern times with computers running everything and everything accessible through the intertubes, you can do considerably more damage from the comfort of your parent’s basement.

I won’t be a bit surprised if the rupture in the pipeline near Huntington Beach was the result of a computer hack done for whatever reason.

I’ve never liked any Dem politicians, but this Kyrsten Sinema is certainly making me go hmmmm.

Odd weather south of us. Raiders are playing the Chargers and the game is delayed due to lightning.

Things started cooling off here around 3 pm. It was 91° F at noon and now it’s 73° with 20 mph winds. The thunder and lightning are pretty spectacular, too. Rain would be a nice addition.

Okay, well… This is a late entry. Sorry. This is officially my birthday week!

I normally would not self promote this but Harper gave me the most awesome gift ever!

I have a Marcato Atlas pasta machine. I’ve had it for a few years. I make my own pasta and/or Ramen Noodles, It came with a hand crank, which I”ve always used.

Anyway, Harper got me the motor for it!! It will make everything go so much faster! I won’t have to bolt the machine to the counter anymore. It’s so much easier. Too bad she gave it to me this afternoon because I just made 5 servings of noodles today. But that’s a minor thing compared to this perfectly marvelous gift!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
