I’m with teh Thread Kitteh; Monday needs to be pummeled.
Sven --
All of the little SJW bishes who decry America for being such a horrible country would have never survived the abuse that kids like my brother and I endured regularly during the ’60s.
When we were still in single-digit ages, if we’d gotten a buck every time we were called stuff like “nigger-loving Christ killers” by freakin’ adults, we’d have been positively awash in MAD magazines, comic books, Testor balsa wood gliders and Nestles Crunch bars.
Screw these pawthetic, attention-whoring pussies who want to LARP the Civil Rights era in the current year for social media cred.
Good morning, Fatwa -- happy start of a new week, GN!
Paddy: we stayed at the Sonesta ES Suites on Slater near Brookhurst. I think technically that’s Fountain Valley? We got takeout and had breakfast at a Mimi’s Cafe- nothing special -- mostly just caught up on things. It was nice to see that most stores and such recommended masks but didn’t require them and that most folks weren’t wearing them.
Fatwa: the woke/sjw crowd is irreparably broken, but I’d still love to see someone ask them that question and as a follow up: is there any white American that you admire?
“When “the left” becomes the party of wealthy elites and state security agencies who preach racial division, state censorship, contempt for ordinary citizens and for the U.S. Constitution, and telling people what to do and think at every turn, then that’s the side you are on, if you are “on the left”—those are the policies and beliefs you stand for and have to defend. It doesn’t matter what good people “on the left” believed and did 60 or 70 years ago. Those people are dead now, mostly. They don’t define “the left” anymore than Abraham Lincoln defines the modern-day Republican Party or Jimi Hendrix defines Nickelback.”
An acronym new to me: FUD. The use of fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) is a much-beloved tactic to delay or deflect a decision away from certain technology. Salespeople have used FUD (a term first used in 1975 by Gene Amdahl, a former IBM employee whose company was the first real threat to IBM’s mainframe business) for decades to try to discourage the adoption of PCs, mini-computers, client-server implementation, the web, social networking, mobile devices, and now the cloud. The tricky thing about FUD is that some of the fears expressed are actually valid concerns and should be considered rationally as part of your decision; other fears are over-hyped.
My Friend and I did more shelf work in the garage. We now have a place to put cans. I still have to buy a freezer and move my water jugs, but it’s essentially a much better situation in here now, because the pantry shelves are much emptier because I can keep a lot more in the garage.
I am more used to the terms FOG and FNG and my first quick thought was that when I saw the post. NG is “new guy” and OG is “old guy”. I think you can imagine what the F stands for in a machine shop environment. I was never really a FNG but became a FOG rather early on. I think it was both age and attitude, plus as a manager I had learned many of the games played on FNGs. I never was much fun.

Happy Mad Kitteh Monday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
Fatwa -- if you ever had to do one of those asinine “privilege walks”, you’d confound them all by your placement.
Sven -- yep, that’s Fountain Valley, but who cares. Glad you had a good time.

What the FUD, you guys! It’s Monday!!!
I’m supposedly doing projects today. A friend is dropping by to help me. I should be putting up Xmas stuff.
Hope it went well and that decorations are well on their way to being done!
I got my all my xmas cards up anyway. Harper put up a few odds and ends.

Huh. You’ve always been fun over here, Mac.
Starting to drizzle. All of SoCal is on STORM WATCH!!! Should be a decent storm.
Newsom has just ordered a new statewide indoor mask mandate effective immediately. Not sure of the details -- hard to give a f*ck anymore.
The mandate runs from 12/15 to 1/15, unless you’re a Dem politician or power broker. Just moar failure theater from a wannabe dictator.
