Or it was -- previous comments disappeared, but now they are back. Good afternoon, Dv8.
Back from the market -- our mask mandate was lifted last week, but most shoppers were still masked and all staff. Saw some young kids without masks -- they looked happy.
We never really had one here. It was an advisory. I wore a mask for a couple of weeks back when we didn’t know what was going on. after that, I stopped doing so. I brought one with me just in case a store asked me to wear one, for about a year. but no one ever did, except for one small store just once. Funny, when I went back there a couple of days later, they didn’t ask me to put one on.
One thought I had on civil disobedience is this:
I think it’s time for people to start stealing the little signs and plastic shields when people aren’t looking. Inertia will take over. Most of them won’t be replaced. I haven’t done this, but it’s an idea that has occurred to me a few months ago, and I’ve been wondering if it has occurred to anyone else.
actually, I remembered one more case of a mask store.
In Flagstaff is a store that sells herbs and also jewelry…
Long after I stopped carrying a mask with me, this store asked me to wear one. But they had some they could hand out for people to wear, so I wore one of theirs.
They struck me as crazy democrats. Not sure why. They acted perfectly normal except for the mask paranoia.
The Canadian Parliament is supposed to vote today on Trudeau’s invoking emergency powers. I doubt they’ll be revoked, which means those truckers and others will implement Plan B -- whatever that is. I’m thinking a work stoppage.
Canada voted and without surprise, handed over the reins of power to Trudeau. I don’t understand Canadian govt, but apparently their Senate still has to vote to approve, but no one knows when that will happen and in the meantime, whatever Trudeau says, goes. On the plus side, I’m glad that this happened to them before it happened to us -- maybe we’ll learn something.
Interesting times, I wonder if our elected officials will have anything to say about this.
Chimera Chicken Monday greetin’s, GN!
Wonder what they do with the front legs?
There’s some reason the ingredients are worded that way, and that reason likely has to do with lawyers; I ponder the “why?”.
As a pedantic child, it bothered me that fowl legs were often referred to as “drumsticks”; I saw very little resemblance.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sven --
Sorry the universe added this to your and Mrs. Sven’s plate; may whatever happens next be easy on your friend.
=======================
The below is crude but accurate, IMO:
Good morning, Fatwa -- Happy President’s Day, GN.
Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts, friends.
Has anyone ever played drums with chicken drumsticks?
Happy Presidents’ Day, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
I’m sure there’s a Biden Presidents’ Day joke in the thread pic. If not there, then in the Oval Office.
Sven -- prayers for your friend.
Happy Monday.
I have nothing to report.
Funny how when you can’t think of anything to say, it doesn’t occur to you that you can just talk about that.
Maybe that’s what I’m doing now.
Huh. That’s strange.

I saw that too.
Care to share with those of use who didn’t?
all the comments disappeared for a bit. Then I refresthed the page and they all came back.
unless you meant the mask mandate thing….

I’ve only been to Flagstaff once, but it struck me as fairly liberal, but so did Sedona.
