Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Skedaddle-by:

Hey, GN!

Will go through yesterday’s head helmet thread laterz to get caught up.

LambiePieK had chemo #2 yesterday and is sleeping-in.

Per a staffer, the (relatively) mild nausea for a few days she experienced after treatment #1 ought not be worse after subsequent infusions; sure hope that’s the case.

Another side effect is a metallic taste plus foods tasting weird, so it’ll be trial-and-error to find foods which don’t taste too weird. We’ve found a few and will continue experimenting. “acidic” flavor profiles seem to be good; we’ll see what else works.

=====================

I must spend a good part of today on a written response to HH-A HOAs latest torment.

After 14 months of this shit, I would like to literally torture a few individuals there in a vicious, brutal manner. I’ve been in a constant state of rage toward them and having to waste even more time and energy while caring for BK has pretty much exhausted my last vestige of “humanity” where they’re concerned.

Those assholes have no idea how lucky they are I live 2200 miles away.

BBL with a Brenda Report after she’s up.

Good morning, GN -- hello, Fatwa. Happy Birthing Person Day eve!

Wishing Miss Brenda a good morning’s rest.

And on to work! I’m up to Day 21 or so of my continuous work streak!

Hi, Sven!

I’m up to Day 21 or so of my continuous work streak!

Dayum…sorry to read you’ve been burning both ends of the candle for the past three weeks. (Not being required to wear pants while doing so is probably scant consolation.)

Brenda Update: Seems to be doing “okay” physically this morning, all things considered. The sugar free Sprite she asked me to pick-up yesterday is a big winner thus far; yay!

Best of all, she’s in pretty good spirits.

======================

Taking a break from working on the HH-A HOA-related document; the needle on my Rage-O-Meter is bent from pegging so hard. (Kind of amazed I haven’t yet had an intracranial aneurysm powerful enough to penetrate my skull and scalp sufficiently to spray the ceiling.)

Happy whatever-that-is-in-the-thread-pic Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!

Fatwa -- I’m glad Brenda is doing well after round #2. You might see if spicy is a taste that she likes. Glad the diet Sprite was a hit. I’m really sorry that you’re having to go through this HH-A HOA b.s., especially when you need to focus on Brenda. I hope the arbitrator gives it to them good and hard.

Sven -- 21 days? dayum! That’s got to wear on you.

I ain’t as young as I used to be, that’s for damn sure, but it’s for teh bestest place ever and that keeps me moving forward!

I’m thinking another three weeks of this crap and then I’ll take some time off Memorial Day week. There might be 1-2 6-day weeks between now and then.

Hi, Paddy --

Re spicy foods: Brenda often enjoys a leetle spicy heat but her palate is significantly more sensitive to it right now. A good suggestion, ‘tho…and appreciated.

She’s found a couple of kinds of crackers which taste pretty good to her today; as folks like to say, “It’s a process.”

====================

Just sent Jim a first draft of our response to the phony-baloney HH-A HOA “leak report”. The report itself was precisely three poorly-written-and-punctuated sentences long. It also included two small, medium (at best) resolution photos with no context to show which of the eleven HH-A buildings we roofed they were taken on.

Sheeeeeeit…I had sixteen legitimately fair bullet point questions / comments about the report. 👿

[fredrogers]

“Can you say ‘eviscerate’? I knew you could.”

[/fredrogers]

We’ll see what Jim has to say.

Mrs Sven isn’t much of a joiner or someone to reach out for help via help groups, but when she was diagnosed with cancer many years ago she did find it beneficial. After her treatments were completed, she started up a group out here locally and raised eyebrows with the national org as her meetings were at a bar instead of the more usual library or community locations.

As much research as I did and as much help as I tried to be for her, there’s a gulf between those with a disease and those without. No matter how much love and empathy we may have, we are still to some extent on the outside looking in.

Just a thought for you guys.

Brenda -- also not a joiner -- very much appreciated that info.

Our thanks and a “good evening” to Mrs. Sven (and you).
