Had some dog trouble this morning -- couple of bulldogs, 40-50 pounds, one male, one female -- barking and growling at the back door and then they wouldn’t leave the property. No collars. Figured they were lost and I didn’t recognize them -- never been around bulldogs and their body language is hard for me to read, but I didn’t want to try and befriend them. The neighbors next door have a couple of dogs, but I’ve never seen them. Anyhow, grabbed a shovel and while Mrs Sven distracted them out back, went next door and it turned out, yeah, they were theirs.
I was almost ready to call the police -- 6:30 in the morning, but I often see people walking or riding past our house at that time of day -- if they were aggressive, it could have been a problem. It pointed out that my weapon options -- pistol or shovel -- are too limited. Thinking about buying some type of aerosol spray just to have on hand.
I was on my way home from church when I got a call from Mrs. Paddy. She was at her mom’s and found a leak in the garage. I headed back and found that one of the angle stops serving the garage sink was leaking. Either that, or the supply line where it connects to the angle stop. It had one of those cheap, pot metal handles and I could only get it to turn 1/4 turn. That wasn’t enough to turn off the water. I could probably replace it myself, assuming Home Despot has the part I need, but it would take a few hours and we have Teh Older and HIs Bride coming over for dinner. We set up a bucket to catch the drips and we’ll call a plumber that we trust tomorrow morning. I’ll have him replace both angle stops and both supply lines -- it’ll be worth it.
I’ve started doing that too -- swapping money for time back. Getting too old for some of this stuff -- took me two days to dig out the septic tanks -- get them pumped tomorrow. Going to drop some adld money to get risers put in cuz I NEVER want to dig this up again.
Tomorrow is the funeral for Elena’s nephew so we will getting up at 5am. Guess I had better get to bed early. Been a hard two months for Elena’s sister. In a couple of weeks they need to move, then a month or so later they move again into their new house. Going to be busy.
A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
It’s off to church for me. C’yalz later!
Hi, Paddy -- is today the funeral service?
Good morning, GN.
Hi Sven, no, the service is not until the 22nd, so I’ve got plenty of time to procrastinate.

That’s probably not a bad idea.

Very good idea!
Sounds like a good idea.
Oh well… Slept through church again.
