One week ago, I emailed my principal and vice-principals with a suggested list of project leaders and project champions for a project we are rolling out (social-emotional learning). This project would fit under the umbrella of student support, which is one of the areas I’m tasked with. As I have no direct reports, I can’t assign tasks to anyone without consent from above. I asked for their feedback on my choices and pointed out that this was part of the first ten days portion of the project. On Tuesday I sent a reminder email. On Wednesday, my principal said she’d have to give this some thought and “I appreciate your patience”. Today I get an email from one of our vice-principals asking for a meeting next Wednesday to discuss this. Oh, and one of the project leaders that I had suggested -- our school psychologist, who recommended this program -- will apparently not be leading the project and may have no involvement in it at all. It sounds like this may end up being another item added to my plate. Just great! And yes, my principal does struggle to make decisions.
Happy Friday Firsties, Gerbil Nation!
Starting Friday with a pun, Mac? Taking a cow-culated risk, aren’t you?
Puns…
Good morning, Paddy.

Channel Nancy Regan and just say “no”?
Depending on what I find out on Wednesday, I think I’m going to have to ask for some staff.
