Humpy Hap Day from Hum…er…Happy Larryville, GN!
When I was a yout’, 18-year-olds could purchase 3.2 beer as well as wine in OH. Unfortunately, the most prevalent low-alcohol beer was Stroh’s, which compared unfavorably with any number of disgusting non-beer liquids. 😉
For my 18th birfday, a friend raided his family’s “beer stash” and gave me two cans of Coors, which was not sold east of the Mississippi at that time and, thus, had quite a cachet. Even my unsophisticated teenage palate could tell it was, in the words of one of Mom’s great aunts, pishwasser.
Cheers for the kind words re teh office floor…which is about to receive its first coat of urethane. Followed by a visit to Teh Evul Walmartâ„¢ and a second round of urethane.
BBL.
I liked Stroh’s beer. Their cheaper brand was Schaeffer and it went for like $1.99/six pack back in the 70’s. For awhile, they had a brewery in the San Fernando Valley somewhere around Devonshire and Tampa. Looking them up now, apparently they still make the stuff but were sold to Pabst.
I’ll have to look around it.
I was introduced to Stroh’s when I was in college (Indiana). While it was a favorite of those from the midwest, my friends from outside the region and I held the same view as Fatwa. When you opened a can of Stroh’s, instead of a whoosh you’d hear clack! You could pour a can from a height of three feet and not get a head.
You guys. Beer snobs.
There’s an off-color rejoinder there somewhere 😉

Don’t know that I’m a “beer snob” so much as that, if something tastes vile, I’m not inclined to drink it.
Good luck with the coating, Fatwa. Try not to breathe too deeply!
Cheers, Sven!
When SiL and I went to get staining supplies, I had to give my DOB to purchase the conditioner…whereupon we started making huffing references, much to teh amusement of the Lowe’s cashier.
Got another Adobe class starting-guess it’s time to pick up new skills….
Good luck with the class!
You never know when you’ll have to use adobe!
Them North Koreans seem pretty intent on destroying San Francisco-I say go ahead. If you have to hit some city on the west coast, we can spare that one.
I hope Obama has a sternly-worded letter already written to send off to them. That’ll settle them down.
