G’mornin’, Sven!
So now our Mid East embassies are going to be closed all week?
Given that this Administration lies to us virtually every single day, it’s tempting to believe the alleged threats are complete bunk and that this is another attempted distraction from Fast & Furious, Benghazi, the IRS, the economy, Obamacare, the NSA, etc…most of which I think are more threatening to liberty than some petulant goat-shaggers with a grudge.
Wasn’t it just a few months ago we were being told that Al Quaida was on the run and Detroit was still alive?
“An attacker could simply download the My Satis application and use it to cause the toilet to repeatedly flush, raising the water usage and therefore utility cost to its owner,” it says in its report.
“Attackers could [also] cause the unit to unexpectedly open/close the lid, activate bidet or air-dry functions, causing discomfort or distress to [the] user.”
…
“It’s easy to see how a practical joker might be able to trick his neighbours into thinking his toilet is possessed as it squirts water and blows warm air unexpectedly on their intended victim, but it’s hard to imagine how serious hardened cybercriminals would be interested in this security hole,” he told the BBC.
If it weren’t so wrong for the genre, I’d be tempted to add “Satan’s Own Turlet” and “Old Nick’s Loo” to my list of possible new band names.
Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Teh Younger leaves for college on Thursday, so we’re trying to cram in as much as possible before then. He came home from camp on Saturday. Saturday night we went out to dinner with friends. Yesterday we went to Disneyland. Tonight we’re going to an Angels game. Tomorrow it’s back to Disneyland in the morning, then he’s doing lunch with a friend and hopefully visiting his high school football coach. We’re not sure, yet, about Wednesday.
Coming home, was listening to Jon and Ken and KFI. One of them was going off on the imminent release of 10,000 prisoners in the state. He was mightily upset; build more prisons, kill everyone on death row, find the money somewheres, just dont care about bad guys in jail.
Me, I’m kinda meh about the whole thing. Did we really think, and apparently so, that the bill would never come due? That we could just keep locking up more and more people without adequate facilities, and we would just keep stacking them higher and higher?
If we are locking up too many people, then maybe, just maybe, there’s too many damn laws and too many things that are illegal.

*Ding ding ding ding ding*
Alas, precious few folks running for -- or serving in -- office are willing to address that issue for fear of opening themselves up to accusations of being “soft on crime”.
‘Cause in addition to being asshats, most public officials are also moral cowards.

I don’t know about you, but I am pretty sure tomorrow is going to be Monday Redux for me. All the business problems we documented today and met about tonight plus all the input from the helpful and the fallout from the pursuant arguments. OTOH, even though Teh Daughter’s blood test to prove to UGA that she received the Chicken Pox vaccine came up negative, they are willing to let her register as soon as they receive proof she has started the sequence again. ( Yes, she did have to have it to go to 6th grade. Yes, she did get it before 6th grade. Yes, the vaccine, unlike the disease, does often produce a negative on blood tests for the antibodies. Yes we did just spend $142 for the first of 2 shots after paying for the blood test. Yes, we are a bit peeved.)
First!

I love kewl technology, but I think a Bluetooth-enabled toilet is just silly:

Hope Teh Younger is able to cram in everything he wants to do over the next few days.
So…have any of our embassies been attacked yet?
Thought not.
Love the site caption.
Have fun, Paddy.
Just noticed teh “motto”; har!
I guess I should go jiggle Jerry’s balls.
