Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
I see that things are so good in America that the Precedent can spend his time pushing for a new way to rank colleges. I’m glad all those troubles in the Middle East have been taken care of, too.

Just talked to Best Man who related an amusing anecdote.
His state rep -- who thinks that OH needs “more common sense gun control” had a townhall meeting last night in Kent. He said that normally these meetings attract 1-2 dozen folks; last night more than a hundred showed-up at a large coffee shop.
During the course of the meeting, said rep asked if anyone who was legally carrying would be willing to unload their weapon and place it on the table in front them. (She’s done this sort of thing before, so a number of attendees were appropriately prepared.)
42 individuals placed 65 weapons on the tables. Best Man had his normal carry weapon -- S&W 340 PD -- and his S&W 500 in a shoulder holster…which caused quite a stir. š
State rep was so concerned with the number of weapons displayed, she (apparently) had her minion call the local gendarmes to check everyone’s CCWs. LEOs showed-up and Best Man was hassled over the 500 by typical cops who don’t know the law they’re paid to enforce. Fortunately, Best Man was prepared with copies of all relevant codes.
Unsurprisingly, no illegally armed scofflaws were identified; meeting did not last long after the po-po departed.
Ironic. She insists on police checking the papers of people attending her “town hall meeting” but objects to people having to show ID to vote? (I assume the latter as she is against the Constitution and Bill of Rights)
Given that far more politicians have been shot by Democrat politicians than by CCW holders does she have her fellow legislators frisked for her safety, or is it like sexual abuse where Democrat politicians get a pass?
Don’t know her position on voter ID, but would be surprised if your (and my) assumption in that regard were incorrect. Also doubt she’d treat her fellow legislators with the same disrespect she showed toward her constituents the little people.
Because “fsck you, that’s why”.
One of the cops wanted to know why Best Man owned a 500 and was told that was none of his business. Said goon than tried to intimate it was not considered a handgun and could be subject to confiscation; pertinent federal and state codes were waved in unionized thug’s face.
(It did not escape the attention of the CCW folks that the officer appeared to be blithely unconcerned with being an arrogant statist bully in the presence of so many guns.)
The White House asked the Centers for Disease Control “to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.” We’re pretty sure that what the CDC found wasn’t what the White House was looking for.
What that study revealed, though, does not fit in with the media-Democrat message.
“Almost all national survey estimates indicate that defensive gun uses by victims are at least as common as offensive uses by criminals,” says the report, which was completed in June and ignored in the mainstream press.
When I told ChipPerkyK about Best Man’s town hall experience re being questioned about why he needed such a large caliber gun, she told me if she were ever asked such a question that, being a woman and all, her response would be, “I’m compensating for my tiny penis.”
It’s amazing I found a wife so perfect for me. š
Elena’s digital picture frame came today so I set it up with some sample pictures. It works very well and has some features I did not expect that she likes. She is quite happy with it and any reluctance is completely gone.
The one disappointment was that the battery is only to maintain the clock/calender/ alarm settings. It must be plugged in to show the pictures. She does not mind so that is good. I told her if she finds she wishes it was more portable we will get a tablet . That should be what I had in mind. As it is she is quite happy. The screen resolution is good and the pictures look fine. When the room is dark the picture fades out and a muted clock dial fills the screen with a large digital time display on the bottom. It would not wake one up but would be easy to read in the night without glasses or contacts. If the alarm is easy for her to set I think this will replace her bedside alarm clock.
Heh. Sneaking past Fatwa once again!
Happy Thursday, folks.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, GN!

CDC Gun Violence Study’s Findings Not What Obama Wanted
So much for that “conversation” on gun violence.

It’s terrific that Elena’s so pleased; really happy to read the digital frame worked out well.
