I do miss playing on The Wheel, but most evenings have so little time before having to crash into bed and prepare for another over-filled day; please relay to everyone there next time you think of it how dearly I hold all of them in my heart, and how all are still prominent in my prayers. I feel quite guilty for not keeping up with everyone and what has been going on with each one.
I also hope he won’t mind my “spilling the beans” to you: After a metric carp-tonne and many years of “political” BS, JtB will be ordained next Sunday!!
Further, he’s gotten backing for his specialized ministry…one that he is, IMHO, absolutely freaking perfect for. (I don’t recall if he’s ever mentioned any specifics here, but it only seems right to let him share teh details when he’s able. Let it suffice to say he has truly found his calling; it’s one which is sorely needed and John’s just the guy to do it.)
LambiePieK and I will be attending his Ordination next Sunday; it’ll also be my first SBC service. Oy. 😉
(He and TRD were amused by my “threat” to show-up in full Chasidic garb.)

To JtB…soon to be the World’s Hippest Southern Baptist Pastor!â„¢
Thank you for sharing the good news! I am very happy to hear this and I hope he finds it a step into the light and brings him joy and fulfillment. He is a very special person and one of several I am so very grateful the Wheel brought into my life.
I do miss him here but I know he is so very busy and those his calling takes him to need him so much more. A man like John can have so much good influence on so many people.
Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
That’s great news about JtB!
Fatwa -- I fully endorse your idea to go to the service in Chasidic style. Do you have time to grow payot, or will you have to have hair extensions?
That he is; I’m so glad for this recent news! From the little I know, he’s had to put up with a lot of unnecessary sh!t to get to this point, but he persevered and is about to move on to what I believe strongly will be very good -- and apparently needed -- works.
Friends -- can I ask for prayers for the family of Jessi, a freshman at Teh Younger’s college? She passed away this afternoon -- the victim of a drowning accident. The school held a Shabbat candlelight vigil for her this evening. Although we don’t recall meeting Jessi or her parents, this accident is hitting Mrs. Paddy especially hard. The fragility of life is inescapable.
I’m very sorry, Paddy. I hope she finds comfort and peace as she comes to terms with this. I know she will have the loving support of you and the your sons.
Friday…teh yay!

While looking for an “inappropriate” pic to email JtB, I came across this one; heh.
Didn’t know Chasids had mosh pits; cool!
I knew those hats looked familiar:
From “Cars Land” in Disney’s California Adventure theme park.

Well-played, Paddy.

Are those like side mullets?
Fie on teh both o’ ye! 😉
Since I’ve not had a haircut since before our wedding, I can simply pull “forelocks” out of my ponytail.

It’s too bad JtB wasn’t ordained three years ago as, a) he could have avoided three years of BS, and b) he could have been our officiant.
