Repaired the toilet. As usual, a simple job turned into a bigger job. Went to the hardware store, bought a new flush valve. Drain tank, replace, turn the water back on and now the inlet valve is leaking--being 30 years old, not too surprising. Drain and try to remove the valve. No go; the area is really cramped and I can’t get any leverage to turn it. Have to remove the toilet tank which of course, doesnt remove easily. Finally get it off and back to the hardware store: new valve, new line, new tank bolts. Put it all back together, but there went the afternoon. Sad Sven.
A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven and Fatwa -- in reverse alphabetical order, by height.
Sven, with my luck the angle-stop would have been soldered in place, which I would only figure out after having wrenched it off or collapsed the pipe, necessitating cutting a hole in the drywall to solder on an extension. Of course I’d be out of MAPP gas, so that would take an additional trip.
I think our house, Paddy, has hit that stage in its life where all things will start breaking. Seems like every weekend, it’s something else. When I mostly worked from home, it wasnt that big of a deal. Now tho, being a normal M-F wage slave, the weekends have become that time to fix everything that broke during the week.
Sarah Palin is on FOX in a few minutes to discuss her reaction to Martin Bashir saying someone should p*ss and s*it down her throat. I’d like to see her accept his apology and then mock the hell out of MSNBC and slap about the hypocrisy of the MSM and leftie groups in general. Sadly, I don’t think she’ll take that tact.
Happy Sunday from brisk, sunny and Happy Larryville, GN!
I can hardly wait to see what sorts of idiocy and prevarications will be spewed by teh talking heads (aka “Sabbath gasbags”) on TV this morning!
Teh yay for positive “unintended consequences”.
Coffee, anyone? (I made it extra-strong.)
Good morning! No coffee?

Sven --
Sorry about your turlet travails but glad you ultimately prevailed. (Funny how they sometimes give us as much sh¡t as they dispose of…)
In my case, I’d also be unable to find the flux I know I have, leading to teeth-gnashing, repeated frustrating searches and/or another trip.
Turlets (or at least their seats) kilt teh thread.
