Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Continued prayers for Mrs. Sven. I hope the ‘coon wasn’t responsible for her fall down the stairs -- that seems more like something the cat would do.
Aw, geez, Sven! Count me in for prayers for Mrs. Sven.
Her story freaks me out a bit as Mr. X was prescribed Celebrex -- he stopped taking it because a) he doesn’t think it’s treating what’s wrong, and ii) well, he can be contrary, and wants to save the x10 stuff for when he really needs it.
Evening Greetings, EveryGerbillyBody!
Typical of life out here, we’re going from a what seems like a standstill to full throttle. Mr. X’s work is picking up JUST when we need to get some ‘tings done around here because teh Moos are coming back (we’ll see if we get anything at auction tomorrow -- thank G-d our knowledgeable neighbor will be with us). And I’ve got the County Convention tomorrow evening, which will determine which rules, resolutions, and delegates we send to State.
I got on the Resolutions committee (yay!) and myself and the EXTREMELY bright Constitution prof. at the local college and I cleaned up A LOT of the committee chair’s hyperbole and other annoying language from resolutions submitted from all other precincts, so the they are clean, clear, and easy to understand.
The prof’s and my mission was to make the language as succinct as possible because the County convention two years ago went ’til almost one in the morning over something like “American citizens” vs. “American people.
IIRC, the Sergeant at Arms made a motion to have the resolutions chair escorted from the building for trying to bring back discussion on the topic at one point. Hopefully, between the two of us, we’ll have managed to avoid that. And this year, the Sergeant at Arms is our actual, steely-eyed, former Texas ranger Sheriff! 🙂
Who knows what we’ll get from the floor though.
Then of course work will kick into high gear Monday as we speed headlong into the deadline. Should be a massive cluster as it is every time…
Buh.
I need a nap already.
Happy Birfday, V of Seven, Fatwa.
And *SMISH!* to all y’all.
Just checking in. Mrs Sven is resting up, doing better but still kinda down and out. Took the day off from work. We had a wedding to go to tomorrow, but are going to have to bow out of that.
I polished that sucker for Disneyland’s parade one summer (acrylic, made to look like a crystal carriage) and prep’d a different version for the old Main Street Electrical Parade.
Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!

Naw, she did that one all on her own, Paddy. But I was very disappointed by the number of “friends” that implied I gave her a little shove.
Friday salutations from sunny, Happy Larryville, GN!
Continued good thoughts for Mrs. Sven (glad she’s doing better!)…and the rest of you, too.
Paddy --
Glad you didn’t get “put” with the “shot”.
Busy morning; BBL!
Tarnation!

Good for you, X, and here’s hoping Mr X is up to snuff soon.
Coon kilt. Like.

Thanks for the good thoughts.

And happy birthday week, Fatwa.,
Happy Birthday Friday, Fatwa!
Just finished the rehearsal for tomorrow’s wedding. Too bad you’ll miss it, Sven. It is BBQ and Open Bar. and Disney.
I’ve been to one of those! Full-on Cinderella carriage and everything!

No, an open bar was not part of the deal.
No carriage that I know of, but they did ask me to make the Cheese Display a Mickey Mouse face.
