Just read about last night’s temblor in OC (and Paddy’s comment re same). Looks like the local media’s really playing it up out there with the “5% chance it could be a precursor” carp.
Hey…another excuse to avoid covering the Leland Yee story. 😉

I think that’s mandatory. Trust me, the “Big One” hits, no one’s going to know anything about it until it’s all over.
Good Morning EveryGerbillyBody!
It’s a chilly but sunny morning out here on the Central SE Texas prairie, and soon I need to go out and help Mr. X finish the fence mending he started yesterday. He made A LOT of progress, but there’s a couple of areas we need to beef up just a leetle. And if the neighbor shows up, I may need to intercede -- the ungrateful, supercilious b@stard of a PoS thinks he can tell Mr. X what “we” need to be doing.
Mr. X came in last evening HOT and with a well-bitten tongue. If that ass shows up again today, *I* probably won’t have the restraint. 🙂
I wish I could say I’m surprised by Leland Yee doings, but I’m not. I AM surprised that it *looks* to be a serious investigation.

Agreed.
Glad you’re getting the reinforced fence done; if teh bunghole neighbor shows-up, I reckon he gets whatever he gets from both of you. 😉

Michelle Malkin opined that the reason for breaking that story -- as well as the arrest of teh former mayor of Charlotte, NC -- now is to try and clear the decks prior to November. I think she’s likely correct about that. Besides, KOCH BROTHERS!!!1!!!1!
But Gov Christie didnt cause a traffic jam as political payback. Got to focus on the big picture. After all, what’s a few corrupt Democratic senators in California compared to that?
Much is made of the hypocrisy of being anti-gun yet helping gangsters get access to illegal automatic weapons and explosives, including shoulder fired missiles, but it really makes sense. A corrupt and power hungry politician has much to fear from armed citizens who might hold him accountable but gangsters are his best friends and financial backers. Disarming their victims is just a bonus to sweeten the pot. Remember that Clinton also helped FBI agents he thought were gangsters get weapons from the Chinese. It’s really win-win as any crimes committed with the weapons they help the gangs get will give them another excuse to disarm the gangs’ victims. PROFIT!!
Unfortunately, the only ones taking note of the hypocrisy are pro-Second Amendment groups and some on the right. Liberals and MSM for the most part…well, it’s over their heads. Reading the comments on some posts, the liberal reaction appears to be that the NRA is worse. Such as these comments:
Entrapment. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was instigated by the gun lobby.
Is the NRA still blocking research on gun violence prevention? If yes -- they have nothing to say. Disgusting.
NRA noise…until the next school shooting…then back to laying low again
The true hypocrites are the NRA.
The NRA feel that it is entitled to be the one to corrupt legislators and, evidently, goes a bit ape if someone else corrupts a politician before they can. Oh, the hypocrisy is pretty damn rich when these cultists get to whining about corruption.
First of all,law-abiding Californians have the gun rights they have; they are not entitled to more. If we want to talk about hypocrisy, perhaps the terrorist leadership of the NRA -- who enable 33-35,000 gun deaths EVERY YEAR in America -- can explain why they hold up legislation to require background checks at gun shows.
That’s like 2nd amendment groups touting gun safety…but pushing for large magazines.
Happy Caturday, GN!

Off I go. Y’all have a glorious day.
*mwah!*
Heya, TeX!
Agreed.

Good morning,
Didnt feel the quake last night. Not seeing any reports of damage which is good.
Task-oriented day today. Lots of stuff on the list!
Hai, Sven --
Given you’re on solid rock, I’m unsurprised you didn’t feel anything last night.
