Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven and Fatwa!
If nothing else, I have something positive going on for the next two weeks. The environmental and atmospheric chemistry section at UC Irvine hosts a two-week research seminar for high school teachers. There are twenty spots available and my application garnered me one of them. Mornings will be spent in lecture and afternoons in lab -- I’m looking forward to it.
A few days ago I texted three of my colleagues and my department chairman, asking if they would be willing to write a letter of recommendation for me. One (who has been a bit of a pain to work with) immediately said yes, another asked a few questions then sent me a glowing recommendation, one didn’t respond, and my department chair said no. Last night, pain-in-the-rear sent me a text saying, on second thought, I can’t recommend you for a teaching position. About twenty minutes later he sends another, “I’m sorry, but I’m still your friend.”
Have a great day, y’all, ‘cuz you just know Jerry will!
Sheesh, Paddy; what a wretched hive of craven shitebirds and scumbaggery; the whole situation sucks to high heaven.
I suppose asking someone from the yoonyun for a referral -- since you were a rep -- is out of the question. 😉

Hope that’s as engaging as you anticipate. (And that the “science” part isn’t totally rigged to get the *cough* correct pre-approved results.)

Anyone been watching the IRS hearing? From a few Tweets in my feed, it appears that at least a few of the committee members ain’t buying some of the bushwa responses. (Not that they’ll actually do anything…)

Just one more reason to love Texas:
