Another Hump Day and another amusing thread pic; yay!

I rather enjoyed Eric Burdon’s take on “Sixteen Tons”; t’anks!
Here’s another one by Borscht Belt bandleader Mickey Katz; I don’t understand much of the Yiddish but find it amusing nonetheless. One of his gimmicks, regardless of the genre of the tune he was parodying, was always jumping into a horah rhythm for the soli. Plus, he always had bands which could play any style of music quite well.
A group of Boy Scouts from Central Iowa received a lesson they won’t forget in federal manners at a border crossing from Canada into Alaska. According to the scoutmaster, a casual snapshot of a Border Patrol agent got the group of about two dozen scouts and volunteers detained, searched—and one of them ultimately held at gunpoint.

Glad I could clean your palate, Paddy. That song has just been stuck in my head for the last couple of weeks now--end up listening to it at work at least a couple of times a day:
Sat at my window watched the world
wake up this morning
Purple sky slowly turning golden,
distant elms so orange
you’d swear they’re burning
All this flowing water
has got my mind wandering
Do you ever finally reach
a point of knowing
or do you just wake up one day
and say I am going?

Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning Fatwa and Sven!
Thanks for the musical palate-cleanser, Sven -- it helped cleanse the schmaltz from my ears.
Heeeeeeeee!
Be glad it wasn’t gribenes; lumpy. Also, delicious. đŸ˜‰
