A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Grumpy Fatwa (is there any other kind?)!
Teh Younger arrived safely at college on Friday, checked in, borrowed a truck and retrieved most of his belongings from the storage unit he and a few others rented, and moved in. Yesterday he started more training for the search and rescue team. Classes will start in a couple of weeks.
White Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson was roundly criticized as racist and overreacting to the protests because of his heavy armor and teargas tactics. They replace him with Highway Patrol Capt. Ronald Johnson--a black guy and former resident of Ferguson. Everybody breathes a sigh of relief now that they have someone in charge who can “relate” to the community. Last night, he uses the same tactics as the guy he replaced, but he’s not criticized for it, called racist, or overreacting. He’s just trying to make the best of a bad situation.
Sullen, testy greetings from Grumpy Larryville, GN!
I’m guessing that Jerry’s in Cambridge to deliver a seminar on internet wrongness at MIT. (He is a world-renowned expert, y’know.)
I’m trying some new coffee today:
Aaaaaaand…the results of the taste test are in:

Well, I wasn’t too grumpy on my wedding day (which can be confirmed by GN attendees); ditto at Gerbilees. 😉
Glad Teh Younger is getting safely settled-in.
Good morning and happy Sunday! Hot out here, do not like.
Here’s my irony of the morning:
