Olive Mac’s thread pic…and LambiePieK loves gargoyles. (As, to a lesser degree, do I.)

Hope all goes well with Elena’s surgery; glad they can do teh arthroscopic sort since it’s so much less invasive.

Hope all goes well with Chelsea’s surgery.

Dinner last night sounded delicious; nom!
What I want to know is, when did cube steak get so darn expensive?
As TolerantOfMyFoiblesK can attest, for the past couple of years I generally come home from grocery shopping fuming due to at least one item we consume regularly having jumped in price. I reckon things are pretty dire when Walmart or T.J.’s prices jump 15–35% over the course of a few weeks on stuff which has been price-stable for years.
(Since my loathing of the elected, appointed and mostly-faceless mandarins who ru(i)n this nation already burned with teh heat of a thousand suns, I suspect it’s going to become a singularity at some point…)
The prices on all groceries, beef in particular, have gone up quite a bit out here. The only thing that seems to have gone down is gas prices--they are the lowest in years.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa and Sven!
Mac -- let us know when Little Mouse will have her surgery. I hope she won’t be in too much pain while she waits.
Sven -- I loved your story last night. It’s what my previous pastor liked to call “a God moment”.
Good news from the criminal defense attorney -- there are no formal charges pending, not even anything filed with the DA for review. The DA doesn’t have the police reports and may never get them. Yep, the CPO was lying to me about that, as well.
So, I got Mom off on the first leg of her trek back to my brother’s this morning. She thought I was crazy to order the car for 6:30, but it did take an entire hour to get to SFO.
Tomorrow, Chelsea goes in for her surgery. They will be removing a tumor on her lip, probably removing her spleen, and removing a tumor in her bladder. It will be a very long day for her, but I am confident that she’ll pull through just fine.
That’s good news…except for the CPO being proven a prevaricating POS. And the whole sh¡itty situation.

When I lived in S.F. from ’78-85, I used to take the Airporter bus to SFO; bet they’re no longer in business. (Still miss the view from my apartment as well as the neighborhood; lived on Union very close to Montgomery.)
Glad you’re feeling positive about Chelsea’s surgery; good thoughts are being over-nighted from Larryville. 😉
Sven --
Appreciated your story from last night as well; FWIW, I take the view that if the universe appears to be sending me an odd message, it almost certainly behooves me to pay attention to it. 😉
Back to work; Jim teh Roofer and I had two lucrative opportunities dropped into our collective laps last week…and, well, I’m jonesing for a Double-Double, some old-school steak burritos and a La Brea Bakery’s / T.J.’s sourdough baguette. Also, feelthy lucre.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, GN!!

That is just so shocking, infuriating, and disgusting!
I hope things will get better.

*Zzzzzt*
Hi, all!
Hai, there!
Hi!
Drive-by:
“Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello!”
(I’ve no idea what made me think of the old ’60s Funny Face drink commercials. Foul as that stuff was, it beat King Stir.)
But how did it compare to Fizzies?
But is it cool?
You wouldn’t want it warm, would you?
