Dianna -- dittos on the best wishes for Chelsea.

Sorry y’all, it’s been a LONG week.
Thursday made it worse when we got the call that one of Mr. X’s friends had died under VERY suspicious circumstances halfway across the world. Unfortunately, in SE Asia, they play loosely with the truth so I doubt anyone will ever really know what happened.
I’m sick at heart for his wife and three children.
If anyone’s got room for an extra prayer or two…

Unfortunately the existing skylight didn’t survive the throw off the roof.

That is such an eerily familiar thought.
So familiar, we don’t remove ANYTHING, ANY MORE without checking sizing.

Other than that, it’s the usual sh¡t. Except one of my coping mechanisms has been removed -- Teh Mangler™ figured out how to make FaceTime work during our meetings. o_0

A little “Demolition Man”, but it’s actually nice to see the writing on the white board for the first time in seven years.

We’re off to Tractor Supply for cattle and dog and fish staples, and then a trip to Wally World and probably Home Despot.
Mr. X is making lamps out of old SCBA tanks from the fire dept. They should turn out pretty damn cool.

Prayers and hugs for all y’all, even for those who didn’t ask.

*ZzzzzzzzT!*

G’morning, GN!

TeX --

Glad to “see” you; condolences to Mr. X and good thoughts for his friend’s family; bummer about Teh Mangler and FaceTime.

Paddy --

I wonder if some other unfortunate person got a 75.25″ skylight for their 72″ curb. We’ve had wrong-sized skylights delivered a few times; that sucks.

As does missing out on Oktoberfest beer, so here’s an appropriate brew for this morning:

I wonder what that staple gun looks like!

No, Lowe’s ordered a 72″ long skylight. The printer at the special order desk wasn’t working when I ordered the first one, so I didn’t have any paperwork to double-check.

I have to say, without a skylight our living room is dark! I never realized just how much of a difference it made.

Funny you should mention that.
It was more like a flat-head screwdriver.
Well, part of today’s staples -- it was a mouse that got caught between the two screens on the screen porch door. So while three dogs watched impatiently, I pried the trim off to release the leetle mouse (and those were 1″ staples! Yeesh!).
I’m pretty sure it wonescaped. At least when they remember, the dogs keep looking in the same place.

I think we caught three fish. And…have decided to stop fishing. In our excitement (and the dogs’) we kind of lost sight of “managing” the resources. And we noticed last week that the number of fry has diminished. Greatly. o_0

So…I think we’ll see if we can teach one or both of the boys to play fetch while Dottie watches.
