Man, does my team suck. Every weekend I think the Raiders can’t get much worse, and every weekend they prove me wrong.
Anybody watching Sons of Anarchy? It’s the final season and I’m thankful for that--the show went downhill after the second season and has really jumped the shark this time out. I was telling Mrs Sven tho that what would have been great is that if Gemma had told Jax that she hadnt seen a Chinese guy coming out of his house after Tara was killed (by Gemma), but rather…Barack Obama.
Kind of a rough weekend. Wasnt feeling all that good--a stomachache for no good reason. Went to a memorial gathering for our friend that passed a couple of weeks back. In a lot of ways, not an unhappy occasion if that makes sense. There were three or so guys there that he served with in Vietnam. One guy flew in from Hawaii; several others traveled good distances to be there and there was a fine turnout. The consensus was that he went out on his own terms His cancer was inoperable; the doctors gave him about 3 months to go. He put his affairs in order, said his good-byes, made a painful trip to see his parents in AZ. Apparently he tried to OD on morphine, but was unable to keep the pills down, hence the gun. He was down to about 100 pounds and in a lot of pain. God bless. Safe travels and I pray that you are reunited with your wife and friends.
Sunday was spent with another friend that stopped by. He’s 62, self-employed and forced to sell his home in Van Nuys and move into an apartment in Burbank. He’s not happy about it, but he looked at his financial situation and looked at how he was going to make it through the “Golden Years” and decided he needed to cut way back on expenses. Not a happy time at all, but he’s looking at reality and acting accordingly. I wish things were different, but I’m proud of him for what he’s doing.
And on the some things just don’t change agenda, my Raiders still really suck. It’s hard to believe that for all the years that I’ve been here on teh wheel, the Oakland Raiders have not had one good season ever.
Goin’ home. Goin’ home. I’m a-goin’ home.
Quiet-like some still day, I’m just goin’ home.
It’s not far, just close by, through an open door.
Work all done, cares laid by, goin’ to roam no more;
Mother’s there ‘xpecting me, father’s waiting, too,
Lots of folks gathered there, all the friends I knew.
Morning star lights the way, restless dream all done.
Shadows gone, break of day, real life just begun.
There’s no break, there’s no end, just a-living on;
Wide awake, with a smile, going on and on.
Going home. Going home, I’m just going home.
It’s not far, just close by, through an open door.
Monday…Larryville…Happy…gaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

All the rumors point to this week as the time to announce the grand jury decision on Darren Wilson in Ferguson. Should be interesting.
Disgusting: Training government officials how to use “civil asset forfeiture” to legally steal your property.
Happy Monday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning Fatwa and Sven!
Ferguson -- a perfect representation of the success of this “post-racial president”.
Now there’s a kilt I’d be proud to wear and without any underwear too!
