Mrs. Paddy returned yesterday afternoon from a work retreat. After picking her and a few colleagues up at LAX then dropping them back off at the church, the choir director, Mrs. Paddy, and I decided to go to Disneyland for a few hours. We had a little snack, rode a few rides, then headed back to the church so the choir director could get ready for the handbell choir rehearsal. Mrs. Paddy and I then went out to dinner at this little spot that does small plates to share. We picked out a few and had a wonderful meal, then headed home. Quite the day.
When at DLand, Mrs. Paddy remarked that it was 29 degrees out when they woke up and that this weather was much nicer. A family near us looked perplexed and asked us where she had been that was that hot in the morning. It turns out they were from Perth, Australia and were thinking in terms of Celsius, not Fahrenheit.

Really, I have been keeping up, I have! Barely.
With work the way things are, I’m lucky if I can even pay attention. And the freakin’ Mangler™ is having a cow about our notebooks and us writing things down. I don’t know about y’all, but I can keep a WAY finer attention to detail if I’ve laid something out on notepaper than I can if it’s all on one screen jumbled up in a way that doesn’t make sense.
(Mr. X is right again, they think the likelihood of one of us absconding with important information is high)

And yeah, I’ve been in all the meetings, but the programmer is sct00pit enough to think he, my co-worker and Teh Mangler™ actually know how the database was built. Much less how it functions, and relates information.
I’ve been having fun timing my, “Um, that’s not entirely accurate…” comments.

In the meantime, we’ve been trying to prepare our tomato plants (that are giving us a second harvest) protection from the freeze that’s coming tonight and then again on Monday. I certainly hope the tarp and C-9 bulbs work…
