Good morning and happy Christmas Saturday! Cold and really windy out here and the kicker for us is that the power company is suppose to shut off the juice all day beginning in half an hour.
Caturday greetings from Happy Larryville…where we’re about to crack 40ºF.
Heya, Sven --
Hope you and teh missus stay warm and that your power company gets you back online ahead of their projected schedule.
===================
Maaaaan…it’s depressing when a good sale price on ground chuck is about equivalent to the normal retail price from just a year ago. Bought a bunch of bulk packs yesterday and will break ’em down and freeze most of it today. (Still debating whether to use the balance for meatloaf or a large batch of taco meat…)
Oh, forgot to mention I called my POS U.S. rep’s local office on Wednesday to ask why an alleged conservative voted for CROmnibus. The filthy little minion kept telling me “you don’t understand”; I repeatedly asked him to explain what’s “conservative” about a $1.1 trillion budget…which went nowhere fast.
I then enquired why the congressman doesn’t take his oath of office seriously and was able to easily furnish a dozen clear, egregious examples. Wound-up getting chastised for being “rude” and “unpleasant”. (I always start such conversations by being über-polite and only escalate when I cannot get straight answers.)
“The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.” -- Thomas Jefferson
Seems to be a little late in the game to do so peaceably.
OutOfTownK asked me last night to pass-on her hopes all of you had a good Christmas, as she doesn’t have much opportunity to use any of the kids’ computers.
Teh granddaughter’s arrival date is still a little iffy; apparently the stork is a union member. 😉
Well the power is still on; wondering if due to the winds they’ve decided to reschedule.
Heh. ” Rude” AND “unpleasant”. I hope you said thanks.
Years and years ago, I had a girlfriend tell me that I was “rude, crude, cold, and unfeeling” over something or other. Another friend wanted to get me a tee shirt with that slogan, but never followed through.
It’s possible the phrase “unscrupulous, prevaricating rucksack of feculence” might have been uttered. (Which I probably picked up from an old Readers’ Digest “Toward More Picturesque Speech” article.)
As re recording calls: no legal issue since GA is a “one-party” state. However, at present there doesn’t seem to be a good app for the Nexus 5 which doesn’t require rooting it. I’m unwilling to do so at this time as I don’t really understand the process and it seems as though a lot of folks get themselves into trouble rooting their handsets without knowing what they’re doing.
Poor bear; I hope he at least feeds him!

Hope all is well with the rest of Gerbiland.

*Sigh*

Har!

I’m roughing-out a t-shirt design for you:
Happy Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good day Sven (now with even less power!) and Fatwa!
Teh Family and I will leave in a bit for Irwindale to begin float decorating. We’ll be working on the Miracle-Gro float this year.
Fatwa -- I’d love to have recordings of your calls to members of goobermint.
Hai, Paddy…and happy float decorating!
