CINCINNATI — An off-duty Kentucky police officer out to dinner with his wife in Cincinnati accidentally shot himself in the stomach inside a parking garage elevator, authorities said Sunday.
Erlanger Police Department Officer Darryl Jouett of the Erlanger, Kentucky, Police Department was headed back to his car on Saturday night when he tried to adjust his department-issued weapon in his holster, and it discharged, Cincinnati police said.
The bullet ricocheted off the elevator walls and struck him, Police told WCPO-TV.
Dunno, Mac…those things are pretty tall per the accompanying picture of rioters; looks like somewhere on teh order of 15’+ (before the Kaiser helmet point).
It’s a much better Monday than usual here in Happy Larryville due to MuchMissedK’s return.
Nonetheless, still appreciate Mac’s appropriate thread GIF. 😉

Glad Teh Younger finally made it back to his dorm and hope his baggage catches-up with him sometime today.
My goodness…how could this have possibly happened?
Happy Monday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa!
The guy in the thread-gif might have succeeded if he had just laid a sheet of newspaper over the board and table.
Hai, Paddy; teh yay for air resistance!

Note the location of the tear gas and engine exhaust outlets. 😉
Don’t tear gas me and tell me it’s raining!
Heh.
I do think the teargas nozzle needs to be a little higher.

You’re right. I didn’t look closely enough. Now it brings this to mind.
I know it seems like a lot of people would welcome the police from THX-1138. That is what is really frightening and disturbing.
That’s a new-to-me (I think) Heinlein quote; thanks!
It’s amazing to me how many people of varied political persuasions think that our burgeoning police state will be on their side.
