At work the other day, a new guy was suppose to start to replace a guy they fired like 8 months ago. We were told that this guy is really good, great addition to the team, and was just finishing up his new hire orientation. Sadly, most of that wasnt true--the guy never showed up. Didnt call, didnt email either. What’s odd is that this is at least the 5th time that’s happened since I’ve been at this place. People accepting offers and then on the day they are supposed to start or the day before, they say thanks but no thanks.
The funniest thing though was a comment from senior management afterwards: “Why is it so f**king hard to get people to work here?” Uh, because it’s not such a great place to work and the pay sucks? I’d start there.
And most of the media in this country is censoring their images of “Charlie Hebdo” covers mocking Moohamhead and/or Islam in their reportage of the story. H/T to The Daily Beast for bucking that appeasement monkey trend.
Sorry that your present employer continues to suck.
Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Hai, Fatwa and Sven!
Thanks for the links to the Charlie Hebdo covers, Fatwa. It’s good to see that the Twitter-verse is taking up the charge.
Yesterday I sent an email to my newly-elected congressional representative, Mimi Walters, asking why she voted for Boehner given his record of lies. I’ll let you know if I get any response.
Every GOPer in the House who withheld votes from Weepy has been effectively banished from any important slots, committee chairmanships, etc…and probably won’t get any pie, either
I cannot tell you how much I loathe our RINO Rep. Woodall. I wish dueling were still in vogue ’round these here parts, because I’d gladly slap him across the face with a pair of gloves and demand satisfaction. 😉
From what I see at Ace and on CNN, France is turning out in solidarity with the slain cartoonists and journalists of Charlie Hebdo. I’m glad to see that the French citizenry aren’t taking to blaming the victims for their own murders or calling for “understanding”. They’re also not blaming all muslims.
Agreed…and one rarely gets to say that in a non-sarcastic manner.

Since there’s another “Draw Mohammed Day” happening in certain quarters on the intertubez, here’s my NSFW, exceedingly crude and poorly-executed contribution. (And if I’m putting up a link rather than embedding it, you may wish to carefully consider before you click. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.)
Fuzzy-headed greetings from Happy Larryville, GN!
Mac’s thread corgi is right; morons are particularly important in the study of asstrophysics and asstronomy.
This comment brought to you by the House Leadership Committee, where failure isn’t just an option…it’s a requirement.
Good morning,
I see the Religion of Peace has struck again.

Update:
Here’s a link to the Daily Beast slideshow.
I truly appreciate this cartoon:

Hai, Paddy!
If you do, I doubt it will be an honest one.

Good on the French.

I snorted.
And thanks for the warning.
Thanks for the warning. I think I will pass.
I believe you both chose wisely. 😉
Here’s another cartoon I liked:
