Glad to “see” you. Bummer about teh lightning strike, power outage and damaged devices; hope the new power supply for your TV fixes it.
Glad that you’ve now got better internetz.

Mornin’ Greetin’s.
I did read BW the exchanges about the corn shucking. She laughed at the flavored potato chips, so that was good. She’s holding it together pretty well at work. Every night around & after dinner time is hard for her. That was when she usually spoke to TM on the phone. She usually just gets sad, but last night she broke down some. I told her it will get easier with time, but of course it doesn’t feel that way now.
Sorry to hear about your tv & internets, TeX. But at least you get some better service now.
I don’t understand why our At&T is so slow. We are in teh city! Oh well. I’m complaing about slow internet when they went to the moon with slide rules & pencils! I’m not going to do so well when teh SMOD hits.
I saw a factoid on the weather channel. There have been 205 tornados so far this year, 55 of them in Texas, 58 in Oklahoma. Some of our lakes that were refilled are now having to release water to prevent more flooding. Ha!
See ya later

Mr. X keeps saying, “Alright, enough already!” and I keep thinking, “We really shouldn’t look that gift horse in the mouth…” because come August he’s going to be muttering, “We could really use some rain…”

They used some computers too. Meet Margaret Hamilton (not the same one who played the Wicked Witch of the West), who led the software design team which created the on-board guidance software that made the Apollo moon landings possible.
She’s also credited with coining the term “software engineering”; more at teh link.
Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, RabBiT, TeX, Fatwa, and Sven!
RabBiT -- you’re a Good Gerbil®.
TeX -- glad there was at least some good that came from teh lightning strike. I hope the new power supply resurrects your TV.
Sven -- only one moar day at CrackCo. and you can take a couple of days off.
Yes, Paddy: I am free from CrackCo for three days!
Sadly, another guy in our group gave notice today and another woman I worked with was fired/quit.
Lots of amusing and frustrating corporate antics the last few months. However, I was tipped off by a security person that they know what web sites I browse at work and so all I can say is that I REALLY love my job! It’s teh BEST!
I hereby do solemnly aver that Sven has related -- via countless electronic communications and face-to-face conversations with me -- what an utterly awesome place of employment he has.
In fact, if I weren’t so fond of Sven, I would be terribly envious that he relishes his job so much.
===============
Maaaaaaaan…I guess this danged meter desperately needs to be recalibrated.
Thanks, Fatwa! I guess I really have just gushed about my job whenever we get together at Zig’s. I hope none of my work enthusiasm has made you uncomfortable!
Nah…you only sounded like a cultist about BestCompanyEvarCo that one time; we’re cool.
(I think that was teh visit when I ordered the Bullet…since we were at its home.)

Hey Sven, if CrackCo gives you any lip, remind them that you transitioned from Svenlaka to Sven and we were all witnesses to that a few years ago. I don’t think they want the discrimination lawsuit you may or may not be forced to file on them. Especially once they find out you have a high-powered lawbaw from teh District of Bountiful.
