Quite a storm last night. Getting very tired of this. Just reconnecting things I disconnected and making sure we didn’t wash down to fricking Kansas or something. Seem to be intact so I am going to try to sleep some more.
Thanks for the concern. I will feel better when Rabbit and Tex check in.
Mac -- Glad to know that you and Elena are okay; I can only imagine how tired you must be of the storms.
Sven -- Like your music choice:
We’re in a low budget film where nothing can last
Yeah…but I’ve got 15 points on the back-end; woo hoo!!!
Work is stupendous. We are making a real difference in the world.
That’s the spirit! 😉

Mornin’ Greetin’s!
Last night the heavy rain & thunder/lightning didn’t hit us til after bedtime. No hail in our location, either.
I just watched a “high water rescue” on local tv. It was a police car that was flooded almost up the windows. A small town called Sasche. They had shown the car earlier in the morning on one of the rural roads, but not that there was anyone in it. So the cop was not in uniform, maybe on his way to work or something. Anyway, they lowered a rope with a little sling that he put under his arms & hauled him up in the air. So they are flying over flooded fields & the creek, some roads, people, vehicles, cows, etc. and they just kept GOING! At one point the local gal laughed & said, “Where are they taking him?” They kept on flying, dangling him, swinging in the wind. She said, “They are going to put him down, aren’t they?”
They started to lower him & the local guy remarked on the people standing in the road taking pictures of the cop. The girl asked again about why they weren’t lowing him to the street. The local guy said, “Maybe the chief of police said since he flooded a police car, keep him up there awhile.” Ha! They finally put him down in a field & he just collapsed (lying down) while some guys came & got the sling off. I’d hate to hear the ribbing he is going to take from the other cops-and the townspeople. The local guy said, “He’s got some ‘splainin’ to do.” They are still laughing.
Saudi Arabia is advertising for eight new executioners, recruiting extra staff to carry out an increasing number of death sentences, usually done by public beheading.
No special qualifications are needed for the jobs whose main role is “executing a judgment of death” but also involve performing amputations on those convicted of lesser offences, the advert, posted on the civil service jobs portal, said.
Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, RabBiT, Fatwa, Sven, and Mac!
I’m glad to hear that our DFW contingent is surviving. Now we need TeX to chime in.
Sven -- I left for choir practice last night when you were slow-typing. I wasn’t ignoring you. Glad you’ve got some good techs left to work through the inevitable problems that come with any rollout.
The local guy said, “He’s got some ‘splainin’ to do.” They are still laughing.
I can’t begin to imagine what they’re going to do to his locker at the station…o_0
We’re OK out here on the Central SE Prairie -- probably because we have a lot of open ground that will *eventually* soak up the water. I can’t believe the pictures coming out of Houston and Austin.
Granted, we’ve received warning that the Brazos River may get “beyond flood stage” -- but depending on the direction you’re traveling, it’s ~40 miles NW, or ~20 East. So I think we’re OK.
The A&M corn/soy/millet/cotton fields are going to get some VERY nourishing water, but probably too much of it.
Friday…teh yay!
And for your morning entertainment, an excerpt from a low-budget version of “Aliens”:
Neglected to express my hope that the TX contingent are all doing okay (and that they’ll check in).

OK, cool: Mac checked in and is OK--and the rest of you guys? You know how we worry here.
Love the low-budget aliens, Fatwa. Soundtrack by the Kinks--Low Budget, of course. Great song.
Off to work. Work is stupendous. We are making a real difference in the world.
Hai, Mac and Sven!

Off to run errands.
See ya later

Hai, RabBeet -- Glad to “hear” from you; also appreciated the “slow-typing”.

Glad the Tejas crew are all accounted for.
