Thanks for asking, Paddy. She took her last antibiotic yesterday and I guess we’ll see how she does once she’s off them. She can talk again (insert tasteless but funny joke about wives not being able to talk and the blessing that is) and worked the entire past week.
“A planned “Ginger Pride Day” event at San Francisco’s Dolores Park has been cancelled by the Events And Facilities Specialist at SF Recreation & Parks due to an overwhelming response from redheads looking to attend the first-ever festival in the region.”
I’ve hardly ever been to WalMart--based on Fatwa’s trip reports, I may have to make an effort to go there.
The one in Simi doesn’t have a full-on grocery section, so you’ll be missing an important component of the “Waddlemart Experience” (including saving money on food). Overall, it’s definitely not as nice as the two nearest us. But for things like sundries, it’s okay.
While I hated the Walmart in California the few times I got dragged in there, I like the one near us here. It is only a mile or so away and I have not seen any Walmartians there. I wonder if they are more a city thing. Texans are generally much more polite, considerate, and sociable, as long as they are not behind the wheel of a car.
Folks in aggregate here are way more polite -- at least superficially -- than anywhere else I’ve lived.
I suppose that one of the things which irritates me at Waddlemart is that I just want to get in, get the stuff on my list and GTFO. Not into browsing, farking about on my phone (or tablet), etc. And I get a little testy when cow-eyed crowds interfere with my mission.
My normal walking pace, especially in a store, seems to be faster than 95+% of the folks around here, which may be cultural.
And then there’re the convoys of KorpulenceKarts; two or three “wide loads” shopping in a pack, all on scooters and riding two or three abreast. (Not kidding.)
That’s why I generally try to do grocery shopping on weekday mornings; far fewer customers for me to swear at under my breath. 🙂
Amusing colloquialism: Some folks ’round here refer to shopping carts as “buggies”
First!
Good morning and happy Saturday!
Happy Caturday, GN!
Hai, firsties Sven!
I guess the dog in Mac’s thread GIF is demonstrating that he is, indeed, a pack animal.
*Fleas*
Heh.
I thought I had a pic of Rosie that was similar to Mac’s .gif. And I did!
Except this was when we were unpacking from the move.
Good Morning EveryGerbillyBody from the howcould-it-possibly-get-more-humid Central SE Texas prairie.
Sorry I haven’t textually checked in much lately, but I’ve been watching all y’all.
And now it’s time for errands. Coffee anyone?
Hai, TeX!
Nice to “hear” from you…and cheers for the kawfee.
Had to make an impromptu Saturday Waddlemart run for BrendaK; got in and out of there before the human Weeble hordes were in full force. 🙂
BBL.
Happy Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, TeX, and Fatwa!
TeX -- it’s nice to see you this morning. Thanks for the coffee! I hope all is well at the LA-TeX ranch.
Sven -- how is Mrs. Sven? I hope she’s not pushing her recovery.
Hi X! Hi Fatwa! Hi Paddy!
That Rosie is a good looking dog.

Rowdy Roddy Piper has died. That’s too bad; always enjoyed him in the ring and out. His starring role in John Carpenter’s They Live is classic.
Reading a list of the best Led Zeppelin songs. Kashmir is #1--I hate that song.
Sad news in the Arbuckle household:
“A planned “Ginger Pride Day” event at San Francisco’s Dolores Park has been cancelled by the Events And Facilities Specialist at SF Recreation & Parks due to an overwhelming response from redheads looking to attend the first-ever festival in the region.”
I would not think the people in San Francisco would need to worry much about having their souls sucked out or stolen.
What could be left?
They might not want the world to see the comparison between Ginger Pride and Gay Pride so forcefully demonstrated.
Paddy, I really am so glad to be out of California.
Someday, I hope to be able to post EXACTLY the same post, Mac.
We’ll keep a light on for you!
Hai, Paddy, Sven and Mac!

Also, I have seen waddle-butts there. 🙂

Ahahahahahahaha!

Hey! Guess what this is! C’mon, guess!
It’s a dune buggy!
I never would have guessed, Paddy.
Walmartians. Snort. I like that. A lot.
