I called Sis last night at eight. “Oh , I was about to call you.” Lie. ZS was released from the hospital at one. They threw out almost all of the meds that I had just gotten filled, and the hospital ordered up new ones-which she got filled at their pharmacy for a total of $20. They gave her a paper to see if Catholic Charities will help her get a new scrip of Eliquis. Sis will take her back to see her primary Care doc today. The first hospital told her to take Eliquis twice a day.The doc, when we saw him, said once a day. Now the county hospital says twice a day again. Sis put ZS on the phone, she wasn’t particularly friendly. I guess because we didn’t go running up there. After a couple of sentences, she said ,”My show’s on” and ended the call. Yeah.
We are taking the morning off from TMP. maybe all day (I hope)
A legal response filed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives claims a Freedom of Information Act-related complaint improperly targets them. “The ATF is not an ‘agency’ within the meaning of the F.O.I.A., 5 U.S.C. § 552 (f) (1), and is, therefore, not a proper party defendant,” the response claims . . .

Pacific ocean temp is 74!
Saturday is supposed to be our groups’ big 3 mile annual La Jolla Cove to Scripps Pier and back swim. We have waited for the conditions to be just right, no waves, warm water and sunny. I have been counting on 3 of my regular mermaid friends to join me.. We pretty much swim the same pace, medium and steady but they have been dropping out one by one. Mermaid Janie has a tweeked back, Mermaid Kathy came down with bronchitis and Merman Don had to go out of town suddenly to deal with a family thing. There are others in our group who think its a race and are much faster. So if I go, I’m going to have to keep up with all the faster swimmers or I’ll be left behind, alone in the middle of the 600′ deep La Jolla Submarine Canyon! OH NOES!! Its giving me some anxiety thinking about it. Hopefully one of my buddies will make a remarkable recovery and we can do this swim at our own pace. I really need to be able to function on Sunday, my 29th wedding anniversary! If I have to race full speed the whole way on Saturday, Ill pretty much be done for the rest of the weekend. Mermaid dilemma!! Do I wimp out this time and risk not getting another chance at the pier this year or do I put on my big girl swimsuit and power it out with the speed racers? If this weather and water temp hold, I could probably talk one of my buddies into doing it another day.

We only got up to 96° -- not looking forward to the rest of the week.
I fixed chicken and waffles for dinner -- turned out great, but it was too much time in a hot kitchen.
I got another rejection for a teaching job I applied for -- at least they had the courtesy to let me know.
