It’s a balmy 25ºF here in Happy Larryville. And teh rain’s just making landfall in the L.A. metro area (based on radar).
A lot of the parenting I got was the old man glaring at me…or the threat of same. That was very effective. 🙂
I see more govt “if it saves one life” bullshit is about to rain down on us.
One could make that same argument re limiting the size, scope and intrusiveness of government into areas where -- IMHO -- it has no damned business. Alas, most Americans would think that was utterly insane despite evidence to the contrary.
And it’s off to work. I woke up about 1:00 this morning from a dream in which I was about to be fired. Not a good omen, but there you go. I don’t much care for my job, but I am thankful to be working. So a change in attitude, at least my public face, is likely warranted.
Hope teh precipitation doesn’t affect Mrs. Sven’s or your commute in any significant manner.
I’m steeled for the likely phone / email onslaught; Jim and the crew are armed with tarps and lots of Henry’s wet patch. Ought not be a boring day for moi.

Day 12 of hellcoldflu and I’m regretting going to yoga that one day I felt good. Still made it to work but yeah, relapse sucks. I haz my advil, kombucha and Ricola to get me through today.
I think we have traumatized Cali with binge watching The Walking Dead every night. She refused to come upstairs to her cozy bed until we turned it off. Poor Doge.
I listened to and then read some of what Obama had to say about gun control today. I wasn’t impressed. I find the man completely out of touch when he says with obvious bafflement “How did this become such a partisan issue?” not once but a few times and then pops out these nuggets:
“So the gun lobby may be holding Congress hostage right now, but they cannot hold America hostage.”
“So all of us need to demand a Congress brave enough to stand up to the gun lobby’s lies.”
“Yes, the gun lobby is loud and it is organized in defense of making it effortless for guns to be available for anybody, any time.”
Yes, it’s quite the shocker when those you love to demonize don’t get on board with your agenda. The evil NRA, in bed with the gun manufacturers, just out there to make a buck on all the carnage. F*ck you.
