Last Thursday, BW & I zipped up to Oklahoma for 8 hours. We did pretty good & had fun. I got back with over half of what I went there to donate. BW didn’t do as well. But it was worth it.
We are having a warm spell. Supposed to be 89 today. That means I will be grilling later. Yay!
Jerrie, sorry about your big ol’ sideways tree.
Paddy, sorry your new job is making it so hard to try to work for them!
Gotta hop out & do errands.
See ya later
(POO-f)!
Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, RabBiT, Fatwa, and Sven!
I got exactly two emails and zero IM’s from my employer, yesterday. Both arrived late morning. The first asked if I was updating certain data for a group of new students. After I explained what was preventing me from accomplishing that task, I got the 2nd email, asking when the problem started. So, I guess I’ll just sit here with my thumb up my Trump until they fix things or give me something else to do.
“She made the story up about being assaulted by a male subject at the bar and punched herself in the eye because she wanted to raise awareness about the social hardships of people in the LGBTQ+ community.”
Too bad she only got a $225 fine and six months probation; that’s not how you discourage this sort of carp. I think anyone who fakes a “hate crime” (maaaan, how I hate that term) ought to get double or treble the maximum penalty the actual perp would have received.
I agree. Besides the great dis-service to the cause and the real victims, they smear the reputation of the innocent, individual or group, which would seem a hate crime by their own standards.
Hate crimes are thought crimes aren’t they? How can anyone be in favor of government criminalizing thought or feelings the government does not approve of? These people really do think they will be the rulers when freedom falls, don’t they?
I read where enrollment at University of Missouri is way down. The University claimed it was just fewer HS graduates and such but I also saw that enrollment at other Missouri colleges is up. Maybe their command of math is no better than Click’s understanding of communications and the First Amendment?
Do they need to call in some more muscle to encourage enrollments?
If someone whacks me in the head with a brick at the ATM, I don’t give a rat’s arse if they did it because they don’t like men, or old men with long hair, or white people, or Jooos, or they want my money, or some combination thereof.
The operative phrase is “whacks me in the head with a brick”.
Donations to Mizzou are also down by nearly a third; I’m surprised it’s not more.
Interesting that we have the equivalent of thought crimes, but they’ve been getting rid of the concept of mens rea -- especially wherein federal crimes are concerned -- for decades.
While increasing the number of federal crimes on the books at a furious rate.
Too bad neither of the major parties stands for small government.
Good morning, Wheelizens.

No communication from anyone at work so far, but I found that my access to one database has been restored, so I’m plugging away at my list o’students.

Hai, Cali!
I’m glad you’re enjoying the new-found daylight after work!
Hai, Sven, RabBeet, Paddy, Cali and Mac!
Central Michigan University professor claims that she was harassed at a Toby Keith show for being gay and was later punched in the face outside of a bar by the same guy. Only one problem:

Mac --
Hate crimes are indeed “thought crimes”.

Looks like a Trump blowout. Watch out for shrapnel from those exploding leftie heads.
