A great Good Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa and Sven!
Sven -- thanks for the Cowboy Junkies piece.
I feel so much safer knowing that President 4-putt won’t let the terrorists interrupt his plans for living the high-life on the taxpayers’ dime. Nothing says ‘eff you’ to the terrorists like doing nothing.
I’ve always liked the Cowboy Junkies, Paddy, and Margo Timmins has just one of the best voices around. Catch her at like 3:58 of this video and see how long she belts out that one note:
I see more scandal wafting around Ted Cruz today now that they’ve moved past his wife, and Trump’s hands are as clean as the driven snow of this one. It’s really enough to make your bury your head in the sand for the next 8 months or so.
What bugs me the most, is the way Conservative-leaning blogs and leaders that I use to respect and enjoy, have gone all in for Trump. Ok, Breitbart.com has been barely readable since Andrew died, but Gateway Pundit and The Conservative Treehouse used to be beacons on the right. Not anymore. These Trumpers are way worse than the Obama idiots from 2008 since they ought to know better.
Huh. With all the Trump and terrorism news, I completely did not know that Brian Johnson has left or been booted out of AC/DC and the rumor is that Axl Rose will take his place. Which would be really weird as Guns, I thought, had reformed for the Coachella Festival next month.
Well, the chance to see Slash and Angus on stage together would be worth the price of that ticket. But unless Axl has matured and changed his ways, you can never be sure if the guy will even show up.
Actually this gives a shot to the lead singer of my favorite Van Nuys band: Georg Dolivo from Rhino Bucket.
One Night Stand: “The reigning and STILL undisputed champion of AC/DC soundalikes, Rhino Bucket’s ‘One Night Stand’ is quite simply the great, lost AC/DC song that never was…so accurately reverential that the Aussie legends could probably cover it and even their fans wouldn’t notice a difference. Much of the credit for this goes to the gargled glass delivery and innuendo-laced double entendres delivered by Swedish born singer Georg Dolivo (a Bon Scott ringer through and through), but the song’s three-chord riff is also effortless, simple perfection. Talk about a perfect ‘One Night Stand.’”
I get up in the morning and I work all day
I come home late at night and I sleep life away
There’s nothing I can do, it’s the way of the world
I was told
I’ve spent fourteen years at the job I got
I’ll spend fourteen more till I’ve done my lot
There’s nothing I can do, it’s the way of the world
There’s nothing I can do, it’s the way of the world
I was told and I heard what was said
I was told, I listened till I was dead
I was told… Yeah, I was told
I’ve spent half my life tryin’ to make ends meet
Now I’m half way there but I think I’m beat
There’s nothing I can do, it’s the way of the world
I was told
I look in your eyes and all I see is hate
There once was love but now it’s too late
There’s nothing I can do, it’s the way of the world
There’s nothing I can do, it’s the way of the world
I was told and I heard what was said
I was told, I listened till I was dead
I was told… Yeah, I was told
Never had it easy, but I never had it this damn hard
Good morning, GN!
Friday…teh yay!

“Muslim terrorists? Never heard of ’em and even if they do exist, it’s nothing to get all wee wee’d up about.”

Hopefully AoS and HotAir will hold the course.
Hai, Sven and Paddy!
Love it!
I’ve been having a discussion with a friend on FB about this.
Well, I hope you aint being a hater, Paddy, on that Facebook thing.
Diggin into Brenda’s dryer: hi Paddy! Hi Fatwa!
Sheesh, aint there any women here no more?

Maybe it will be a combined band: DC Roses or Guns ‘n DC

Another great tune, redone acoustically:

OK, boys: I’m off to church. Bummer that I’ll miss FRIDAY NIGHT CAPTIONING. Heh.
