Happy Monday, Gerbil Nation!
Or not.
Yeah, I’m not feeling it, either.
Good morning, Fatwa and Sven!
Mac -- perfect thread gif!
Jerry -- if you sell your house, whose gutter will I sleep in when I’m in town? Of course you could also think of all of those projects that you’d have to complete at whatever place you moved in to -- that could be either a plus or a minus.
Yesterday was really nice. The weather was gorgeous! Both kids came over for dinner with their significant others, a couple of their friends and my bestie mermaid friend. I made 2 types of fish. Baked grouper seasoned with blood orange olive oil and dorado barbecued with asparagus, wild rice, and a baby kale and arugula salad that I grew in my garden. We drank good wine, sat around the firepit and even colored some eggs. I cooked a lot of fish, enough for everybody to bring home some for lunch today. We fit 9 people around a table made for 6. It was fantastic! It was a little tough getting to work in time today but the coffee is kickin’ in and I’m almost ready to rock and roll…
We have to eat up all the fish in our freezer before spring halibut and summer yellowtail and dorado season too! Last night, we cooked the last of our grouper until we re-stock in Bahia De Los Angeles, Mexico in June. I have some new top water lures, guaranteed to fill that freezer full of grouper.
We learned last October that the grouper and cabrilla will come up for the lure and you can catch them better than a deep diving lure because those they just take back into their cave and then you lose the fish and the lure. I bought 3 colors and 2 sizes. I cant wait for June!
Gentle Gerbils, I will catch up later but I just got home from the hospital. I had a heart attack Saturday morning and was in the hospital until after 4PM today.
I have threads up through Wednesday but if possible could someone fill in for a week or two. If I can I will do it but things will be crazy for a while. I will be finding the joys of insulin as well and Elena has knee replacement operation next Monday. Any way I have a stint and I’m fine. Sorry for the hassle.
Dear Mac, I’m so sorry to hear of your heart attack. Shouldn’t happen to someone with such a gentle heart. Please take care of yourself, we’ll handle thread lad duties until you are able -- hopefully soon. Give my regards and best wishes to Elena.
Paddy, We haven’t typically caught grouper but the ones caught in October were a decent size. 10-15 lbs. Lance had 1 Sebile jointed topwater lure that worked so well so he was the only real catcher. I lost a few of the deeper diver lures so stopped targeting them.. lures are expensive! When we got home, I found these on Amazon and they were only $7 each rather than the $19 sebile. I’m hoping this theory of mine pans out and these lures will work as well and I will catch some too!
Mac -- take as much time as you need -- the posts won’t be nearly as good, but we’ll put up with anything to keep you with us. Prayers for a speedy recovery as you enter this new phase of your life (now with even moar insulin!). Prayers for a successful surgery for Little Mouse and renewed mobility without pain or discomfort. I hope the family can help y’all out and take some of the burden off you both.
So very sorry to hear that, glad you are still vertical and you didn’t find your name in the obituary column today! Prayers have been said and will be said for you and Elena. Pleas let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
Wow, been a while since I’ve been here. Hope everyone else is hale and hearty!
Top o’ teh week, Wheelizens!
Monday…buh.
Jerry --
Hope that you get a preposterously generous offer on your house.
Hi Fatwa. Your checklist matches mine this morning.
Hai, Sven --
May your coffee be more effective than mine’s been this morning. Had to double-check to make sure I hadn’t accidentally bought decaf. 🙁
Happy Monday, Gerbil Nation!

Good morning, Cali!
How’s our mermaid this morning?

This stuff is the bomb.
I love grouper!
Sounds delicious!

I’ve only caught grouper when spear-fishing, so you’re new technique sounds interesting. How big are the ones you typically catch?
Hai, Paddy and Cali!
I agree that Seafood Magic’s good stuff; tasty on burgers (instead of salt), too.
Criminy…long day. But not nearly so long as poor LambiePieK’s. 🙁

Sorry, threads are covered through Wednesday. Corrected my comment.

Both of you are in my prayers as always.
Oh Mac! That’s terrible! Sending you lots of pixie dust.
Geebus Mac! Rest up!
If there’s a need for a Threadboy, I’ll jump in with, ah, material.
Seriously, feel better soon.

Joe and JtB! It’s good to “see” you both! Drop by a little more often, don’t make Mac go to extremes to get you here!
Very sorry for long absence. Just go in tonight, almost bedtime already. Life dun got busy over the past couple of years!
We all understand, John! Give my best to TRD -- y’all are good Gerbils.
