Nice thread GIF, Mac; I’m probably going to have nightmares of being chased by über-fast turtles now.
Had to look-up the reference to Chinese Gordon; I vaguely recall the release of “Khartoum” but have never seen it.
============
I recently cadged SackO’SugarK’s Netflix password out of her to watch a couple of documentaries: “Jaco”, which is about bassist Jaco Pastorius (a phenomenal innovator on fretless bass guitar) and “The Wrecking Crew” (the cadre of L.A. studio musicians who played on hundreds of hit records mostly in the ’60s and ’70s).
If you’re interested in the subject matter, I thought they were both fairly well done.
I’ll look forward to your latest tale(s) of TBPE whenever you feel like sharing.
Glad it’ll be a bit cooler out there for a couple of days; hope that helps the crews fighting the various fires.
As re Netflix, I suspect you’d find “The Wrecking Crew” of more interest than “Jaco” as you’re almost certainly more familiar with the music they performed.
Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
I hadn’t heard about the latest FBI incompetence. It would be nice if we had a Congress that actually took their oaths of office seriously.
The financial markets are all in a tizzy over Brexit. I sincerely hope Britain pulls the trigger and takes some small power away from the financial elites.
Paddy, I saw that Facebook post about the good Samaritan in California. That was Elk Grove, where I lived from 1999 until I moved to Texas in 2007. What a crock.
OTOH, them CALPERS pension obligations ain’t gonna fund themselves. 👿
It would be nice if we had a Congress that actually took their oaths of office seriously.
IMHO, the last member of the Senate to do so was probably Barry Goldwater (who left office nearly 30 years ago).
The House Democrats are having a literal sit-in re “common sense gun control” today led by local (ATL) asshole Rep. John Lewis. He might’ve shown some actual courage a half-century ago during the civil rights era, but for the past three decades he’s been a racialist POS.
More than a few folks online remember Lewis slandering the Tea Partiers.
May race-baiting demagogues like him, the rest of the CBC, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, et. al. die ignominious and/or horrifically painful deaths for what they’ve done to this country. And may history vilify them. They’ve deliberately made America a shittier place for the past fifty years just for their personal benefit.
It’s teh middle of the week; yay!

Hi Fatwa and good morning GN!
Some quite interesting stuff going on teh bestest place ever, but that story will have be told another time.
About 20 degrees today than Monday. Monday was really really hot.
Something watchable on Netflix? I’ll have to check it out, Fatwa.
Hai, Sven!

I see the FBI has allegedly lost track of Omar Mateen’s wife; yet another example of extreme incompetence by that agency.
(I think this was done deliberately in order to avoid a potentially embarrassing “investigation” and/or trial. Or to cover-up something even worse.)
Too bad we have a Congress which mostly doesn’t give a damn about anything but power and grifting.
Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!

Think I’ll stay in Texas.

Un-farkin’-real, Mac.

I wonder if he will claim the Republican congressmen spit on him and called him the “n” word. I hope there are cameras and microphones.
I saw that article because Paddy reacted to it. Not hard to believe in California.

There’s something really sad and really pathetic about seeing a bunch of well-dressed old folks sitting on the ground.
The only sad part to me was not personally being present in the well of the House wearing steel-toed work boots. 🙂
But then, I’m old enough to remember when sit-ins were in support of civil liberties.
You are so old fashioned, Fatwa.
If only these jackalopes could get this worked up over ISIS.
I wonder how many guards are outside protecting these idiots
If only the Lion of the Senate was still around to lend his support.
Them Dems sure do love them some mob rule.
“If you are a terrorist, you shouldnt be able to buy a gun.”
Yes, that makes perfect sense, cuz if you are a terrorist you should be able to do everything else in America except buy a gun or get on a jet.
Each year, my disdain for the Left grows and grows.
I’m hoping for fisticuffs, but no Republican has the balls.
