Hope you spent a relatively comfy night; kidney stones are no fun at all. (FTR has had them twice since I moved here and they were one of the few things which ever stopped Dad in his tracks.) Hope it passes sooner rather than later.
Thanks, Fatwa. I have been pretty good since coming home yesterday and did not need any of the pain meds or nausea pills they prescribed. I expected more pain so I guess I got off light, though the morning was rough. I hope I don’t make a habit of that.
Happy Whatever-the-heck day it is, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, Mac, and Sven!
Mac -- I’m glad you’re doing better. Follow the doctor’s orders and drink plenty of fluids.
I sold my car yesterday, so I guess I’d better get on the stick and get another one. It’s always disheartening to learn how much someone will pay for your old, high-mileage vehicle, but I really didn’t want to put an ad on craigslist or autotrader and you’ve got to allow the other guy a little room for profit, so…
One thing I really hate is the way live rock performances are now edited. Or at least the professional ones--a lot of the audience recordings are really quite good, but the pro ones all seem to follow the same format. Shot of the singer: wait 3 seconds and switch. Shot of the bass player: wait three seconds and switch. Shot of the lead guitarist: wait 3 seconds and switch. Full stage shot: wait 3 seconds and switch. Drummer: 3 seconds. Crowd shot: 3 seconds. And on and on and on.
I hate it. I like watching the whole band and I like seeing the individual band members for more than 3 seconds, but there you go. It is what it is.
But watching Donald Trump give a speech--he’s exactly the same way. He can’t keep a cohesive narrative going to save his life and he’s all over the place. It’s rare when he can string together 3 sentences on the same topic. Most annoying.
G’day, GN!
Bat Pet! Na na na na na na na na!

George Washington: hater.

That’s good news, Mac.
Hai, Sven!
Very happy to read you’re doing “pretty good”, Mac; kindly continue down that road. 😉

Hi Paddy,
Too bad Cash for Clunkers is no longer in effect!
I see the “hands up” people are back in the news. I was wonderign where they’d been.
I left the teevee on and I can hear a shrill voice--must be that “most qualified person to be President ever” ranting and fighting for us.
