Happy Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
Mrs. Paddy flies home this afternoon and I have work that needs to be completed before Monday morning. Oh, and my next class starts with a computer-conference on Sunday night. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Uneventful journey wishes for Missus O’; hope her project went well.
Perhaps I’m out of line, but I was not impressed with the 911 operator. Seems to me she should have dispatched a unit ASAP, then asked the rest of her questions.
Glad that woman was armed, acted and only wish she’d cacked the other two intruders. Oh well, if they’re caught, they’ll be charged with their fellow goblin’s death on top of everything else.

Forgot to remark early that I like teh thread GIF; sort of a home-brewed version of one of these:
Fatwa, Elena and I listened to the 911 call yesterday and were both upset. We agreed with you. She didn’t even get the address right until far too late. If the lady had been calling for help as we are told we should do, she would almost certainly have been interrupted long before help could have been dispatched and without the address no help could have been sent. She was a great example of why we must be able to protect ourselves and our families.
Appreciate your -- and Elena’s -- opinion re the call. (As I am often -- rightly and wrongly -- accused of being “too judgmental”.)
Based on several 911 calls I’ve heard since moving to GA, it seems like staffing of the local emergency call center(s) has become a sinecure for a certain politically favored group. I don’t think this does much to enhance the service.
(Sorry if that sounds ugly; I call things the way I see them.)
I agree that the 911 dispatcher seemed to lack urgency and professionalism. I wonder how long it was before the police arrived after the 911 call? I also wonder about the woman’s shots that she fired from inside at the fleeing criminals…if that’s going to create some problems for her.
What also surprised me is the actions of the man that’s with her. He seems really undisturbed by what had just happened.
Happy Caturday, GN!
Cali --
Thanks for the amusing graphic yesterday afternoon.
Mac --
Appreciated you reposting that video of the guy in his garage. Goblins sure don’t like it when their intended prey is armed and takes the offensive.
Good morning and happy Saturday!

Longer video of the shooting incident Fatwa posted yesterday:
