I may need to rethink my decades-long habit of reading news first thing in the morning; it’s going from “depressing” to “damned scary” at an alarming rate…but I just can’t seem to eliminate my compulsion to be an informed citizen. (I’m still under the quaint impression that’s a civic virtue.)
Glad you enjoyed the Lemmy article; thought of you and TeX when I read it. Particularly enjoyed this paragraph:
Hughes claimed Clarke initially consumed several grams of amphetamine daily along with a half-gallon of Jack Daniels, which he later switched to vodka and orange juice. “After two weeks, he could barely stand up without railing a line,” Hughes said. “How the fuck did Lemmy live so long? What a legend. Ian couldn’t even do it a full month, and he was basically a part-timer.”
Lemmy: “Integrity is everything to me. I will not die ashamed. I will live on my deathbed knowing that I gave it my best shot, and everything else is meaningless to me.”
More Lemmy: ““I like girls. That’s the only reason I’m in the music business – I discovered you could get women to take their clothes off if you had a guitar. And they come off a lot faster if you can play it.”
Jack Tatum just came home. The cat can never walk through the kitty door--he has to run full speed through it. So he runs in to the kitchen, grabs a few mouthfuls of food, runs back out and down the hill. He’s apparently got things to do.
He reminds me of me getting ready to go to teh bestest place ever. It’s uncanny how much enthusiasm we both have.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
And a great big SHIt’sT to Fatwa and Sven!
Teh Younger was planning on driving to Orlando on Friday afternoon to meet up with some friends for his birthday weekend. I think hurricane Matthew has put a crimp in those plans.
I just read that a federal judge has agreed to hear oral arguments in the lawsuit the Johnson campaign has brought against the Commission on Presidential Debates, challenging their nonprofit, nonpartisan status. Good!
That’s good news re the Johnson campaign’s lawsuit; hope the judge finds that they have a legitimate legal beef.

I sorta liked that cover of “Sympathy For The Devil”; vastly superior to Ozzy’s, IMHO. 😉
But, given my musical tastes, I’m still most partial to BS&T’s “Symphony For The Devil”. I recall a fourteen-year-old me thinking it was pretty damned cool upon first hearing it on WMMS (which was a truly amazing “underground” FM station in Cleveland).

Pretty funny that Lemmy article, Fatwa. I also like this from Hard Times: ” Just absorb the information as truth and move on.” Words to live by.
Hai, Sven!

That’s also very true if one has a saxophone.
Keyboards…not so much. Good thing my principal motivation was actually the music. 👿
A very good cover the last Motorhead album:

Heya, Paddy!

Still like it the best. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
An interesting version and one I’ve never heard before--thanks.
