Cheers to Mrs. Sven -- and your bad self -- for the rant last night. Saw some footage of the petulant little shits blocking the streets near the Chicago Trump Tower and thought that a low-and-slow A-10 Warthog flyover might aid in dispersing them. 👿
Didnt expect it since my feelings about Trump havent changed, but it feels like a heavy weight has been lifted off of me. And as my brother reminded me last night, CA voted in all the wrong ways Tuesday night, so there’s that, but still it’s a huge thing not having to listen to Hillary! ever again.
The talking heads are once again purposely missing the point of a Trump win and are pondering the ways in which he can work to further the Progressive agenda.
Another conversation at work yesterday: someone saying how she has family members that are in the country illegally and how fearful they are of being deported now that Trump has won. I probably should have been circumspect, but instead my response was “Yes, they’ll be rounded up soon and booted out--do you want to give me their names so I can report them?”
I can understand that people are upset. I can understand that they are disappointed and even fearful, but after years of my concerns being mocked, ridiculed, and ignored, I’m in a giving-empathetic mood for only so long. And apparently that was for half a day yesterday. Done.
And apparently that was for half a day yesterday. Done.
Heh.
While I was very unhappy with both major party candidates, I’m glad Trump won as we know what Hillary! would have been like. (And I’m pleased the Clinton brand is probably quite damaged thanks in part to the Wikileaks dumps.) Dunno what sort of POTUS we’re getting in January; I can only hope he won’t be too disastrous.
I am not terribly happy that the small but noisy Joo-hating white nationalist contingent of Trump’s supporters seem to have been further emboldened by his win; especially all of the oven and gas chamber references. (I’ve responded to a few of those: “Why don’t you lock yourself in your bunker and Hitler yourself?” For some reason, they find that offensive.) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
I watched some news coverage last night of the protest in LA -- the PLS marched around City Hall, then “spilled over” onto the 101 freeway and shut it down. There was a large police presence, but all they were doing was containing the crowd. At one point they tried to clear an area, but the protesters just moved down the freeway. No arrests or attempts at arrests were made. The local news crews were all standing back, by at least two blocks, because they said whenever they get near and light up their cameras, the protesters (who were just generally milling around), started chanting obscenities and waving signs.
This has all the hallmarks of a planned set of “protests” around the country.
Oh, my formerly libertarian local newspaper (now part of a much larger media conglomerate) had this headline today:
Shock Across U.S. -- The Unthinkable Gives Way to Uncertainty
Shock Across U.S. — The Unthinkable Gives Way to Uncertainty
Nope, no bias there.
Har. And fark that newspaper, along with the conglomerate which now owns it and the statist tools who work there.
“Journalists”; pfah!
I was just thinking that if several thousand, oh, say, disruptive pro-CCW protestors showed-up at 500 West Temple to block the streets, prevent L.A. Supervisors from getting to or from their offices, etc. to demand an actual constitutional right, I suspect the police wouldn’t be quite so cavalier in their enforcement compared with the way they treated the PLS.
Happy Thursday, GN!
