T’anks for today’s thread GIF, Mac. (Yes, I dared to tread there; must be my Turret’s syndrome.)
Watched Sven’s clip from last night…”whitelash”?? Sure, there are some noisy bigots on the alt-right. But they, ah, pale against the constant race-baiting from the political left for decades.
And enough with “anthropogenic warmening / climate change carp; that particular deceased equine left the dog food factory a long time ago.
One arguably good thing about this election cycle is that specious accusations of “racism” are something most people who are not lefties or progressives no longer give a shit about.
All this hoopla over Bannon from Breitbart.com being named as Chief Strategist just reminds me of how much Andrew Breitbart is missed. Can you imagine him in that position?
My choice for White House Press Secretary: 1) Former Breitbart guy and now talk radio guy--Ben Shapiro, or 2) or Milo Yiannopoulos. Either way, Leftie heads would explode.
The tank, by the way, is a T-34/85, the final version of the famous T-34 of WW2 and the tank used by the North in Korea.
Sven, I was thinking of Andrew last night when I read about Trump’s picks.
I snort a bit when I hear fears about Trump oppressing liberals. My fears are that he will do an Arnold and go liberal as he always has. Still better than Hillary but certainly not a conservative. The idea of Hillary appointing three or four Supreme Court justices just made me ill. Not over optimistic but even Reagan messed up so there are no guarantees but one can hope for another Thomas or Alito.
Thinking back to 2008 and Obama’s Office of the President-Elect schtick and some of his choices, like tax cheat Tom Delay and there was some other woman that hadnt paid her taxes either. And all the riots from the Right about those choices…good times.
Just read Trump has tapped that SOB Ed Meese as part of his transition team. (Meese was a key player in creating “civil asset forfeiture” under Reagan; including the way LE agencies get to keep all the stuff they steal from you with no due process.)
Also, I absolutely do not want Giuliani as AG; he’s a nightmare on the 1st, 2nd and 4th Amendments (among others).
Regarding Trump, I go back to this: The enemy of my enemy is not my friend; he’s just my enemy’s enemy. Our “enemy” for the most part, is the federal govt. Trump may change some of it, but it won’t likely be a sea change, at least not directly.
Trump’s not a Conservative--hell, he’s not even a Republican. But he is a wakeup call and I have the feeling he’ll piss off the Left more than the Right. His consideration of Meese isn’t surprising: Trump has already said he’s in favor of eminent domain takings, so it’s no surprise that asset forfeiture is something he’s never heard of or doesn’t care much about.
Monday gaaaaaaaaah!reetings, Wheelizens!

I like dogs.

Sure hope that RabBeet and BW are well.
Heh.
Hi Fatwa,
The Right has been too quiet and too frightened to push back against the media narrative of race and racial incidents. Hopefully that will change.
Good morning, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
“Whitelash”, huh? Always have to come up with someone/something to blame. It can’t be that your policies are hurtful and your rhetoric even more so.
Hai, Sven and Paddy!

The Left is freaking out over Trump’s cabinet picks. As if they wouldn’t freak out over anyone he chooses for anything.

I see that Joss Whedon has become unglued:

Not surprising, but sad. I’ll never be able to look at the show Angel again in the same light.
Sven --
I miss Andrew Breitbart as well.
Milo would make a mighty amusing Press Secretary. 👿

Hai, Mac!
Cheers for the tank info.
I had the luxury of voting for my preferred candidate, since I knew GA would go Trump.
I concur he’s better than Hillary!, but I suspect I will be extremely unhappy with his presidency. OTOH, I am enjoying the left’s meltdown.
Yes. My family is in meltdown mode.
Most of Elena’s family is happy as they voted for Trump. They were more supportive than I was. Guess they hate brown people or something.
Hahaha*schnort*hahahaha!

Don’t forget “TurboTax Timmy” Geithner.
Huh. I wonder if anyone in the MSM will notice?

Presumably the Secret Service has noticed.

Criminy.
I saw a spoof of a John Lewis ad and did not understand it until I found the original. It was brilliant. Elena and I were both laughing.
