Mac’s thread GIF reminds me that just the other day, I told SackO’SugarK I wanted to invent a pop-goes-teh-weasel casket for deceased pranksters. Sure, it’s a niche market, but so were Apple’s earliest computers. 👿
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa!
Bummer about Greg Lake. Brain Salad Surgery and Welcome Back My Friends were favorites when hanging out with friends. In college, a friend from Switzerland introduced me to King Crimson (and Kraftwerk and Nina Hagen -- which beat the snot out of the disco of the day).
I saw that a bit earlier on Facebook. I am sorry to see an American icon pass but I lost all respect for him when he sold out to the Clintons. I hope his last flight was worth his reputation and honor. I had held him in very high esteem, even after the Keating scandal, but seeing him in the hearings really hurt me.
Sorry if this is too soon or hurtful to anyone. I did not say anything on Facebook for this reason.
Our heroes are human and will disappoint us sooner or later in one way or another. Doesnt take away from what he did with NASA and I’d remember him that way, Mac.
Re John Glenn: I remember watching his flight (as much as you could see on TV back then) and rather lionized him as a very little boy.
I’ll just say I wish to hell he’d stuck with being a pilot, astronaut and an exec for Royal Crown Cola. While he had The Right Stuff long, long ago, he turned into another dishonorable scumbag politico…which is mostly how I will remember him.
As Paddy might say, “Sure Happy It’s Thursday!”

Bummer: Greg Lake of King Crimson and Emerson Lake & Palmer dead after a long battle with cancer.
Liked both bands, especially ELP since it featured keyboards much more than guitars; their first three albums -- especially “Tarkus” -- were an inspiration to a young me. (Also appreciated the way they were so influenced by composers like Béla Bartok and Alberto Ginastera.)
Tarnation!

I just read that John Glenn passed away.

I will delete it if it hurts or offends.
I can’t disagree, Mac.
Maybe now that he is gone I can forget the memories and just think of the hero. I will try watching The Right Stuff again.

♫Oh what a lucky man..he was ♫♫
Hai, Paddy, Mac and Cali!

Sad.
Hey guys and gals,
Sorry to hear about both John Glenn and Greg Lake.
