3.5″?!? Wow…that’s a bit more than double what seems to have fallen across most of the SFV and SGV. Wonder if that’s some sort of very localized anomaly given the Mountain Redoubt’s location.
Being stuck next to these southern hills, we always get a bit more rain than the SFV. What they got down in the valley, don’t know, but it rained hard and steady until about 4 this morning. Does that translate into $ for you? Hope so.
More accurate to say the opportunity for feelthy lucre.
On most “emergency” repairs, the margins are very low. That’s mostly due to the high expenses for labor, worker’s comp and typical commute times between calls coupled with the reality that there’s only so much people are generally willing to pay for what are essentially temporary repairs.
But they help keep existing clients happy and give us a chance to win new ones.
Happy Christmas Eve, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
I hope the area around Sven’s Mountain Redoubt handled the rain well. No one needs mud slides and/or localized flooding because of clogged drainage systems. Except for Hillary! (and a number of others) -- she definitely needs a good flood (I think she’s had plenty of mudslides, know what I’m sayin’?)
This video answers the musical question: Can “The Dreidl Song” benefit in any way from being performed as Texas swing?
(Short answer: No…it’s still a POS song. Which is kind of ironic given how many beloved Christmas songs were written by Jooos. OTOH, they knew that a successful Christmas song generates a lot more income; damned demographics!)
Off to my brother’s for Christmas Eve--safe travels to those on the roads and for those at home wishing you a blessed day. And actually, those that are traveling have a blessed day too.
Little Tatum just came home. He looks fine and not even all that hungry. He has to have a second home somewhere.
Happy Christmas Eve, GN!
Enjoyed the “first car” tales in yesterday’s thread.
Hope everyone’s preparations are done…or that you can at least see teh finish line.
BBL.
Echoing Mr. Arbuckle: Happy Christmas Eve!
We picked up a good 3.5 inches of rain overnight--snow on the distant mountains. Cold this morning, but more or less clear skies.
Tatum disappeared and has yet to return home. Not the brightest cat on the block.
Merry Christmas, Sven and Mrs. S.!

Merry Christmas, Paddy!

BTW -- Merry Christmas, Mac!
Excellent thread pic…as usual.
We’ll be heading out in a bit to the ClanK Ancestral Compound Mark II where we’ll be spending the night.
We shall check-in when we return; once again, wishing teh lot o’ ye a very Merry Christmas!
*Muwahahahaha…*
Happy Chanukkah!
