Starting to get ready for Mrs Sven’s family coming by today, but I can’t help but shake my head at the bad luck of the Raiders yesterday (QB Derek Carr broke his leg is done for the season) and at the reactions from sports pundits and fans: the Raiders now have no chance of winning the Super Bowl. Newsflash guys: the Raiders had no chance of winning the Super Bowl even with a healthy Derek Carr--they just aint that good yet.
It’s been great season after 15 years of not just meh, but of real anger and disappointment at the play of what was once the best team around. But now we get to see just what this team is made of. There’s still a shot at the AFC West title and a bye week, and there’s still at least one playoff game that involves the Raiders. If Denver wins tonight, the Raiders are AFC West champs and if KC wins tonight, then it all comes down to next week Raiders at Denver.
It aint over until it’s over, and I think Matt McGloin just might surprise a few people.
It’s a shame what happened to Carr, not only on a personal level, but it would have been nice to see just how far the Raiders could have gone, this year. Let’s hope they can rally around McGloin and keep the penalties to a minimum.
Got home from teh Ancestral Compound Mark II safe and sound a couple of minutes ago.
Potential -- and well-deserved -- ugliness was narrowly avoided (although very tempting, given that my family was pretty upfront about dealing with “internal assholery”).
Hoping that each and every one of you is having a lovely day!
Merry ChrisMakuh, EveryGerbillyBody!
Since I can’t do better than the message I received from a work contact over the past week, I’ll blatantly plagiarize:
May the blessings of peace, the beauty of hope, the spirit of love and the comfort of faith always be with you and your family today and through 2017.
And English is that guy’s second language.
Please know that y’all are never far from my heart or thoughts; you are the family I’ve chosen.

Merry Christmas, friends.
Thank you, Ma’am. Always thinking of you, too. I hope you and yours are well.
Good morning, Sven. You snuck in while I was Rabbit typing.
Good morning, Mac and X!
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, TeX!, Mac, and Sven!
I don’t think I could improve on what TeX said, so I’m not going to even try.
Merry Christmas, Paddy.

Oh, was my brother there?
Hai, Paddy!
I don’t think so, unless he’s rather, ah, “gender fluid”. 😉
Glad that volcanic ugliness was avoided. “Gender fluid” must be another one of them things I’ll have to google.
“Gender fluid” -- it sounds like a maintenance item.
“I need to change the gender fluid on my torque converter.”
