“…and in Happy Larryville, it’s currently 22º with a light dusting of snow.”
We’re headed for a high of 32º with a low of 16º tonight, before it starts warming; by mid-week, we’ll be in the 60s and stay there at least through the following Monday.
Hope teh other local Wheelizens are safe and warm; ditto red-blooded Mac, Elena and the rest of the TX contingent.
Happy Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
We might get a little drizzle this morning, but no rain. Glad to hear that Happy Larryville only got a light dusting. Hopefully that won’t present much of a thaw-freeze problem.
Big day for Raider fans in Houston this afternoon--first game of the NFL post-season. Chances of Raiders winning and moving on? Not very good, especially if their defensive performance against Denver last week is any indication. That and penalties.
On the other hand, it’s their first playoff game in 15 years, first winning season in forever, and they are poised to make a bigly impact next season. So win or lose, good to see them back in contention.
Despite being sub-freezing, most of our dusting has already sublimated and the pavement outside is already dry. No freeze / thaw probs around here, but probably overnight tomorrow to teh NW of us where they got a lot more snow.
¯_(ツ)_/¯

While I’m grateful that SoCal’s getting a fair amount of rain, I’m getting a little vexed with a few marginal customers who were told one or two or three years ago they had a problem, did nothing because of a few relatively dry winters, and are now unhappy that we can’t attend to their issues promptly.
Fook ’em.
One individual claimed we never sent him a proposal in 2014; I responded with an email chain in which he thanked us for our 2014 report and proposal, and said, “I’ll get back to you”.
Isn’t documentation sweet? I had a job where I had to come up with a very good system to protect myself from my boss’s lack of organization. It saved my butt a number of times before he learned not to try to pass the blame to me when he dropped the ball. When I trained a replacement as I moved up, the young man I was training objected to the red tape, but he came into my office a few months later and thanked me. The same boss tried to blame him for losing some paperwork and he was able to show he had given it to the boss. Off the hook. He never questioned it again.
I was well-acquainted with the value of good documentation before I started working a a corporate law firm in the early ’80s; that job powerfully reinforced my belief in its value.
Fatwa, sounds similar here, 24 with a spread of 36 / 16. On Tuesday we are looking at 73 / 53, we’ll probably run the AC.
We have small patches of snow from yesterday as it was too cold to melt them, but the roads are clear. Glad for that as Elena will go to her parents house for Three Kings day with her family. I will stay home.
Happy Caturday, GN!

On the gripping hand….
Was never a huge fan, but woke up with this song in my brain this morning:
A great party trick:
Hai, Sven and Paddy!

Heh.

Huh. If only I could make the teh bestest place ever see the value of documentation.
It tends to be for protection from the incompetent and the backstabbers. Not sure I see the attraction for them.
Endorsed! 😉
Oh hai, sneaky Mac!
Hee!
