I appreciate the two links. In re the Huntington Beach desal plant, engineers were required to evaluate the feasibility of intake pipes located beneath the ocean floor -- acting as a natural filter to aquatic life. The results showed that the particular geology of that region rendered that option both technically and economically unfeasible, so the Coastal Commission was forced to remove that requirement. Having both an Environmental Scientist and Marine Biologist in the family leads to some very enlightening conversations -- and further evidence that much public policy and reporting is agenda, not fact, driven.
Since the “new ice age” BS of the seventies to the present time, nearly all environment-related carp seems to simply be anti-growth, IMHO.
It’ll be interesting to have a new asshole in the Oval Office but am deeply skeptical it’ll make much difference. (I wouldn’t mind being wrong.)
I see the GOP Senate passed a budget with an additional $9T in debt and no balanced budget in sight yesterday. They need to be dragged from the Capitol and taken to Esso stations. 👿
Aaaah! Bug! Aaaah! Bug!
TGIF, GN!
My goodness…I’m exclaiming a lot this morning!!1!

A little update re the desalination plant in Huntington Beach, CA. (Spoiler: CA Coastal Commission liars continue to lie; scientists fight back.)
