Last year, our street’s peacock ended up dead by the roadside. He’d been living on this side of the canyon for at least 7 years while the rest of the flock was on the other side of a narrow canyon maybe half a mile away. Them guys would yell at each other from late afternoon until after sundown all through the summer. This year though, I’ve just been hearing the ones from west of us and felt a little sad.
Last night though, I discovered two peahens up on our roof that then flew 20 feet up into the eucalyptus to roost for the night. That was pretty cool -- Mrs Sven was quite happy.
Today I came home and them peahens had eaten all these new plants that I had put in the ground 2-3 weeks back. Bitches. I know it was them. Now I have a dilemma…damn it.
Penultimate Work Week Day; Teh Yay!!!
Now it all makes sense:
Random Twitter wisdom:
Good morning, Fatwa, and happy Thursday GN!
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
I’ve got a couple of papers to write for a class, and a couple of plans to write for students. Plus all the normal stuff. It’s going to be a long day.
Hmmmm. Apparently, you can catch more gerbils with kittens than with seals.
Ah, that was an easy one!

They’re ganging up on you! Maybe arm and train the raccoons to defend the garden?
Yeah, I know. You try to be nice…
